Right.

In the top thirty adventures in Dungeon, several PS adventures scored pretty high. They must have been rather good, therefore. With this and the 'better' rules of 3.X in mind, howzabout some conversion notes (or even conversions) for some of the old PS adventures?

Although I may be of the minority here, I still very much so think 2E's the "better". :P

Rule #1. Don't be afraid to change the monster used as long as the new one makes sense.

Unfortunately, PS monsters have been scattered across half of the books that WotC has put out in 3.5. Fortunately, many conversions of monsters from PS are available in the sticky at the top of this forum. Anyway, don't be afraid to switch up an encounter that is combat oriented with something else. For ones more intimately connected to the plot, you may need to hunt around for something appropriate for a while.

I'd prefer to have almost everything identical, but...

I'm surprised no-one has done anything like this before! I'd have thought that the guys at Planewalker would have done something lke this...ah well.

I mentioned it last year on pw.com but the response went about as far as it is going for you right here. I'd love to do conversions but I'm just not skilled in that area. I convert them when I use a module in my 3.5 game but they aren't precise enough by any means to post online.

I'm currently running a party through Dead Gods in 3.5, and I've made some pretty substantial changes to the campaign, particularly to the beginning to get into the real action more quickly. Honestly, as awesome as that adventure is, you won't need as much work to make the monsters up-to-date as you will getting the PCs to actually follow along, for the plot is hidden from the players for most of the adventure and hinges critically on some easy-to-miss clues.

But here's some rather amazing work done over at enworld.
