Hey, guys. I was just looking through my old Dragonlance Adventures book at the NPC stats and I realized that I hadn't seen Huma and Magius yet for 3.5. If anyone could help me with their stats in 3.5 I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Magius' stats are in the Towers of High Sorcery sourcebook; Huma hasn't yet seen any 3.5 published stats. Posting Magius here, though, would be a breach of copyright and the Code of Conduct.

Cheers,
Cam

Huma has 3.0 stats in Anvil of Time (a Tracy Hickman adventure in Dungeon), though those were published prior to the DLCS.

Thanks for the reply, gentlemen. The Towers of High Sorcery sourcebook is still unavailable where I am at, and even trying to get it online is near impossible. By the way, what issue of Dragon was that, please?

I'm not sure what issue of Dungeon (not Dragon) it is, but it is reprinted in Best of Tales Vol. II, I believe. That's probably the best way of finding it.

Huma has 3.0 stats in Anvil of Time (a Tracy Hickman adventure in Dungeon), though those were published prior to the DLCS.

Unfortunately that is not the best thing to go by, Dragonhelm. Anvil of Time is hardly canon by any stretch of the imagination.

Huma has a greatsword for one thing, but in the book The Legend of Huma he uses a sheild, so at best it should be a bastard sword. And don't any of you dare give me the line that that book is a kender tale, as it is the best book of the series.

Also Magius is described as being bald, he hasn't got the Staff of Magius and is wearing white robes, but he is listed as having a Lawful Neutral alignment.

This last alignment error should have Hickman begging us fans for forgiveness. The fact that Tracy hickman is the one who started Dragonlance shouldn't give him the right to screw with everything as he sees fit. People wonder why there are so many continuity errors within the series, maybe it is because certain children never learned how to play nice with others, unfortunately for Dragonlance.

Ah well, such is life.

Helpful hint Penknight, you are much better off ignoring Hickmans foolishness and starting from scratch yourself. :D

Interesting that you should say that...

How about the line that says that there are many legends surrounding Huma, some of which conflict, and that the truth is lost to history? ;)

And not the editor?

Sorry, guy, but errors pop up in modules, even from the greats.

I've worked with Tracy for years now, and he's great to work with. He's very professional, and does indeed know how to "play nice with others".

Thanks a lot guys, especially Myriddian and Dragonhelm. And Old Sage, I will try to find that issue so I can have some kind of 3e base to go from. Do any of you fine gentlemen happen to know if they plan on releasing more copies of the Towers of High Sorcery? I would at least like to be able to run my PCs through the Test for 3.5. That is, if they put it in there. There was a lot of information that I was hoping they would have put in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting that was just not in there. I have had to use my old copy of Dragonlance Adventures to give me a mold for some of my campaign. Also, in the Towers of High Sorcery didn't they modify the Wizards a little somehow? Thanks again, guys.

Oh, why?

I know that line. That is there to explain the truth about the stories like this one and the ones Sturm quotes in the chronicles. ;)

Yep, your correct the that pesky little N probably was one of those silly little errors. What about Magius' appearance? The fact he didn't where the white robes until shortly before he died?

Lucky you. Seriously.

Still he shows an amazing lack of respect for one of the oldest and most popular books of the series, but nothing I say is going to change that so I will just move along.

Again, multiple legends surrounding a historical figure.

Like you, I think Legend of Huma is one of the greatest non-W&H novels out there. I don't think Tracy would do anything intentional to disrespect that novel. I do know that Tracy makes it a policy not to read other fantasy authors' novels, which is probably due to copyright reasons as well as his tendency to re-write these novels in his head. ;) So maybe it got lost in the shuffle. I don't know what happened for certain. *shrugs*

Mistakes do happen in books, especially in a series like Dragonlance with 21 years of history. I wish they didn't, but they do.

Keep smiling, guy.

Did you miss the first printing Treymordin?

You might want to try a few online retailers. I've seen a couple of copies of ToHS still floating around...

Hrmmmm. can't we simply agree that the Anvil of Time is a dungeon involving time anomalies? it's like the last two episodes of Star Trek the Next Generation. So what if Picard is in the past and he misses the encounter at Farpoint, and changes time. Can't we dragonlance fans understand the concept of anti-time and deal with the fact that Magius and Huma seen in Anvil of Time is from an alternate past of Krynn? Can't we consider Tas, Huma, and Magius in Dragons of a Vanished Moon to be a time that tasslehoff changed when he went back in time and found Krynn's past?

Why is it you almost always seem to come up with a good solution to these little things? Dang you are good! :bounce:
