So far i've read the Iron Throne and just moved onto War, which was a little difficult to get.
What other novels were written in the BR setting and does anyone think they're very good? If so, why?

The other BR novels are...

* Greatheart
* The Spider's Test
* The Hag's Contract
* The Falcon and the Wolf
* The Shadow Stone (was converted to FR novel after cancellation of BR).

The Falcon and the Wolf was released online and can be downloaded from http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/FalconWolfspreads.pdf

The first 3 are on par with War as far as writing goes, but are nothing that special (although worth reading if you are a big fan of BR). Greatheart is the story of a human growing up in the Sielwode and delves into the arrival of halflings in Cerilia, shadow world portals and the corruption of the shadow world, as well as some interesting history. The Spider's Test is the story of the founding of Endier and features the Spider and Richard Endier. The Hag's Contract is the story of an attempt to free the pirate king Albrecht Grabon from the Muden prison by trading him for a noble currently enslaved by the Hag.

My favourite BR novel is actually the Shadow Stone, which was converted into a Forgotten Realms novel, but still retains its BR flavour. It is the story of the High Mage Aelies, and has some good background on the college of sorcery, elvish magic, the shadow world and the lost. The names have been changed to fit the FR, but isn't hard to tell where it is set and which BR cities are involved.

Thanks Raesene, your response is actually exactly what I was looking for. It's tragic that Shadow Stone was converted, it sounds like it would've been a very good BR novel.
I don't know how everyone else feels but BR was the greatest of all D&D settings, I still mourn its passing...

It might have "died" within WotC but people are still playing it across the world, as roleplaying scenarios and online political sagas. What is more, a semi-official (semi-organised fans with the backing of WotC) DnD 3.5 friendly version has been written, with new chapters and resources being developed. And it's free to access.
