Does anybody have any links to sites or posts about information on the Seekers? I don't see a way to search these forums in anyway..maybe I'm just to tired an missing them. And I generally don't use the DL world a lot, but I am planning out a DL campaign, and I ordered the books today off amazon, but was hoping to make the seekers a fun aspect of the game (after I just finished reading Hederick). Any info on this group would be a huge help for me in getting things planned. Thanks a lot!

We post over here all the time too, you know...

Holy Orders of the Stars has the most recent information about the Seekers and provides a little guidance on including "false" religions in Dragonlance. It's well worth a look!

Cam

It presumes the movement died out in the War of the Lance, since the gods returned they have nobody to seek.

Of course, I disagree with that. Other than Elistan, most of the Seeker hiearchy looked with scorn upon the old gods, a "we've been there, done that, been persecuted and disappointed". With the War of Souls, and proof positive that the Gods are merely super-powerful beings, it is quite likely that the Seekers would have continued "Seeking the true gods". After all, the Gods of Dragonlance are pretty philosophically abhorrent, (though the system could be saved by incorporating aspects of eastern thought, and equating the River of Souls with karma, and union with the High God as a state of Moksha or Nirvana).

Anyway, I am fully in favour of bringing back the Seekers as a legitimate challenge to the Dragonlance's true religions, especially with the advent of mysticism. Abanisania without the Seekers is like Flotsam without Toede.

I like this idea. I can imagine the New Seekers (Neo-Seekers?) saying that the mistake of the Old Seekers is that they looked externally to themselves, and that true enlightenment only comes from seeking within (which may be a neverending journey...).

Yep, that could certainly be an option.

I myself plan to reinvent them as being polytheistic iconoclasts, so still seeking externally. I'm not much of one for individualistic ideologies.

Additionally, Uziel has some info on the Seekers at the Chambers of Astinus. See here:- http://worldsofdnd.com/astinus/knights/seekers.htm

Great in my opinion i think also. I cant believe that all Seeker at the end of the War of the lance change the side to the old gods. I think some go in oposition to the old gods and some go in the underground as secrets cults. After the time at the war of the lance in short frequent intervals it gives often problems with the old gods. When they leave at the war again Chaos, the time for a comeback at the seeker was great. The seekers are not Nobodys - they can control magic and control the peoples. It can be possible that Takishis they use for her own plans as the one god. The answer at all the prayer and seek for the Seeker.

And forget not the Seeker was one of many new religions in the time for the war of the lance.. It gives many more. And the Seeker was in a religionwar in Abanasina with the new religion of the nomadtribs and whose god Belzor.
