There is no XP version of "Wake of the Ravager", it's a DOS game and to run it in windows you will need a DOS emulator, or a system emulator you can install DOS on.

I could not get ravager running in DOSBox with sound, so I run it in virtual PC.

The game itself should not be hard to find, it's abandonwear and a varity (abandonia or home of the underdogs might have it) of sites have it for download.

I just bought used CD versions of both Shattered Lands and Ravager for PC on e-bay. These are Dos programs, however I loaded Shattered Lands and it ran just fine on my Windows XP system. I really cannot explain this, as I had downloaded Dosbox to play these games but didn't need it. It appears that Windows XP knows what to do with the game and opens a dos environment for it to run in. I have sound and everything....my how technology has changed in 12 years.

The easiest thing to do on XP is to right click the main program file and select properties. At the point you can go to the compatability mode tab and make it run under windows 95 or windows 98, and that should work.

At least it does for me and my huge collection of DOS games, those two included. Somtimes you don't have to do this, but most of the time it's better if you do.

Emulators work too.

Interesting, I've never been able to get either of the dark sun dos games to work "correctly" in windows without an emulator. Then again I never really tried very hard as I've always had an emua;ltor or an old PC with dos handy.
