#1allenthailandOct 22, 2005 23:28:12 | This is going to sound strange, so please bear with me... I have loved the Dark Sun setting since it first came out, I love almost everything about it. Here's the thing though, I've decided that I want my next campaign to have only spontaneous spellcasting. I wanted a region dominated by an implacable and nearly undefeatable evil power (Athas has that in spades!), where the common citizens are kept illiterate (again Athas provides this). My reason for doing this is to make things like travel and provisions more of an issue in a campaign. I found that a Wizard, given prep time, can usually find out whatever he needs to know about his opponent and simply destroy him with the perfect spell. So, how crazy would it be to make the Sorcerer Kings sorcerers? Am I completely nuts? And has anyone tried to shoehorn Warlocks into an Athasian campaign? |
