Arcane was the name used for the race in 1e/2e material... mostly SJ and PS. When 3e was released, the Manual of the Planes also updated the Arcane, giving them the name Mercane and slightly decreasing their historical relevance to crystal spheres. They are still the masters of multiversal trade however and their new name reflects their "merchant" leanings.

Nov 06, 2005 18:19:39 Well, they are the only official update for the Arcane, so I would say... yes. Unless you can find a fan-based conversion online that you'd rather use of course.
