I typically, as a rule, don't allow for obnoxious overpowered campaigns like those that Gestalt characters quickly become. However, that would definitely be a way to get to starting the process to becoming a Dragon at level 21 or so...

Hi Cerberys,

I'm currently dming a gestalt dark sun game, but no one wanted to play a spellcaster, unless you count the pterran warlock/rogue.

I would have loved to have one of my PC's become an advanced being like this, but my players never do what I think is cool

Most of my players in that game (like 4 out of 5) are psion/something, though.

What do you mean by gestalt? One of my players is a epic sorcerer/psion/cerebrancer and the other is an epic elemental/psion/psychic theurge. They are both working to the advance being prc's. Are they gestalt classes???

Gestalt classes are played using a rule from Unearthed Arcana that allows you to combine the features of two classes into one. If you don't have the book, there is a description of how they work here at the excellent d20srd site (a cool collection of open game content).

I ran a gestalt campaign going threw the old Freedom and Road to Urik modules. The characters (that lived to the last fight in Road to Urik) were a halfing CE Barb/Ranger; a human psion(savant)/rogue LN; a LN human monk/psychic warrior; and a thri-kreen (increased racial HD)/gladiator LN.

We didn't get to the high epic levels due to all of the characters dieing toward the end of each adventure. We lost interest in the gestalt system as being too power full and gave up on the campaign (sigh...it happens).

It's about freaking time we got some new meat around here. I was tired of being the go-to-guy.

If I ever get to play 3.5 Dark Sun, I'll play a character who will become an avangion, if I ever play a gestault character, I'll become a dragon, wipe the world of halflings, any other races that irriate me (which will be most, though I might leave thri-kreen alive to inherit the world) and lastly, I'll free Rajaat, just to see how ticked he becomes, and what he can do with the ashes of this world... (Imagine it like an adult being flipped off by a snotty kid when having a bad day.. sure I'll get a whoopin, but it'll be freakin worth it ) lol

If you can't have fun when evil why be evil?

I can deal with the savage halflings in the current age but I cant stand the ones from the blue age and their life shaped creations.

Speaking of which, those life shapeing 1/2lings and the blue age dont exist in my campaign.

yup yup yup consume the world and then travel to another As a Dragon, I'd have no qualms about laying waste to all of Athas and using it for my own foul purposes.. performing experiments and tests upon its inhabitants, and finally, after I've advanced incredibly, (say, forged my way twenty levels into the normally 10 level epic prestige class for those who become dragons) then I'll leave the planet, and go terrorize random planes of existence... maybe even send warning that I'm coming, in the form of ominous omens of doom, just to see what different worlds can throw at me to test my strength and superiority .. then... off to the next battle! Endless war and victories (eventually I'd tackle the beings with divine ranks.. not to take their place or get followers... but merely to whoop tail ;) lol)
