Hi. I'm looking to move my home brew online campaign to somewhere on the Flanaess, but I know very little about Greyhawk, other than, it is a nice plain setting, without the nightmarish detail of other settings leaving it open to customization,...

which is the draw.

so can anyone help me?

The story is as follows...

At Frocin's Peak (In what some men call the "Last Lands" because they lie at the end of the civilized human settlements of, Hengist, which was the name the first king who brought people over the east mountains to dwell there a thousand years ago, and now King Dornar reigns at the high seat, in Gunphar, the capitol of the west kingdoms) dwell a clan of earthfolk, or dwarves, the clans of Frocin Stoneblood, and his chieftains. These dwarves, under their leader Frocin, are allied with the king in Gunphar, and have pledged to the king, to guard the northernmost pass into Hengist, from any coming in from the western lands beyond, the badlands, or the trackless wastes.

Frocin has held this promise for a century, but he grows old, and the chieftains begin to squabble. His son Fror is named his heir, but Frocin knows that this is only a formality, and the other thains will pounce on him, as soon as he dies. As if this wasn't worry and trial enough, there are monsters in the pass, and Fror demands to be sent down for the Stonebloods with a detachment of warriors. It is his right and duty, but once out of the sight of Frocin, Fror, is at the mercy of both the tides of war, and the evil dwarf thains who wish for the power of the ancient dwarfholds of Frocin.

Frocin has assembled your party to accompany, Fror, down the pass, as his personal bodyguard. Your duty, and pledge of honor to the house of Stoneblood, is to keep Fror alive at all costs, both from the mosnters of the waste, and from the thains, who wish Fror dead. Once the monsters have been destroyed and the pass is clear, you are to return to Frocin's hold, where he plans to gather all his kin to the garrison of the mountain and launch a bold strike on the thains, before they can return and attack him.

Part 1: The Gathering:

Four volunteers stepped forward when Frocin called for the shieldguard of Fror in his great hall. They were, Joren Stonefist, fighter, son of a prosperous, Dunkirk smithy, Rotgut Stonecrusher, brewmasters son, and Ranger, Witzvald Torunn, sickly cleric of Moradin, and Nino Stoneblood, cracked barbarian son of Balin Stoneblood, advisor to the king.

They assembled the dwarf soldiers on the pass plateau, and started the long 3 day march down the backside of the mountains to the badlands. They didn't get far when they found a wounded wyvern stomping around the pass road. The shieldguard ran forward, and brought the beast down! Only Witzvald, got a little queezy and had to lie down after ward.

Part 2: Down, Down to Goblintown you go my lads!:

After the wyvern the march continued. Suddenly, the group was called to another halt, Brawn, the ranger that was traveling with the dwarf company, an old friend of Fror's, noticed a "sinkhole". A "sinkhole" on the pass, refered to a network of caves or passages that would eventually lead to a deep well rising up from the underworld, an evil abode of goblins and other foul creatures. There was no way of telling when this particular hole was checked and reconnitered, this was the job of the dwarf thains. What the party failed to notice was that this "sinkhole" was supposed to have been watched and marked by the Feldspar clan, arch-enemy of the Stonebloods. Fror refused to continue down the pass, until the caves were completely checked out, sinkholes destroyed, and any monsters vanquished. He was loath to spare any of his soldiers who needed to be fresh for the battle below at the last gate, but the shieldguard ended up volunteering for the job, except old Witzvald, he got sick and passed out. The rest of the team got down to the holes and found them infested with goblins and their slaves. They began the nasty job of cleaning up the caverns and recovering any treasure for themselves. Soon after the first network of caves was cleared out of busy goblin miners, and guards, the party happened across two more dwarves, one Bentrot Faithholder, a priest, of the Order of Ash and Soot, a temple in Frocin's own hall, and the other, an old campaigner from the strife years, a battle hardened trench soldier, Otto Hassock. They fought on into the caves, this time against foul bugbear soldiers. The company was greatly sapped of strength, and during the next respite, Bentrot took his leave of the shieldguard to report to Fror what progress had been made, and to request assistance for the beleaguered crew. Fror sent healing, and two more dwarves, a female arcanist, Amber Goldstone, and another clergydwarf of the House of Ash and Soot, Arlin Ironshod.

They are nearly finished with this, first dungeon, so where could I plug this in on the Flanaess?

I think I have found just the spot Legend :D

If you have a GH map look at the pass between the Hold of Stonefist and the Frost Barbarians in the far NE.

Your story strikes me as the far north of GH, edge of civilisation, Barbarians and a harsh enviroment.

1) History wise it matches, Barbarians had a long migration and crossed over the Grift/Rakers/Corusk Mountains
2) Dwarves inhabit the mountains ranges as do many various humanoid tribes such as goblins, orcs, etc.
3) Wyvens also inhabit the various mountain ranges of the far north
4) I can easily see the Frost Barbarians making a pact with a dwarven stronghold to alert/hold the end of the pass in the north of their land as it enters the Grift mountains due to native humanoids or raiding parties from the savage stoneholders.
5) Many would term the Hold of Stonefist as frozen waste and to the west is a land called "the Barrens" as per your story.
6) The frost Babarian nation is even going through social upheaval as the young King clashes with the traditional Jarls of the land.

In fact if you just exchange Frost Barbarian (Frutzi) for Hengist, it matches extremely well geographically and historically.

With the pass further east as a possible choice except the stoneholders seized the pass which hasn't happened in your scenario.

Hope this helps

Fortunately there is a good amount of Greyhawk material online and I was able to find a map and check the location. This will have to serve until my Living Greyhawk gazetteer comes in from amazon.

I like the location, and the pass is right there as well, a little shifting around and I think we've got a winner here. Thanks for the meticulous research Crag, I will put a link up here in case you want to see the transfer. Should be interesting.

Thanks for the link Legend looks like a great game ;)

The more I read the more I suggest the Kelten/Hraak Forest pass, the tough enviroment and reliance on the fur trade screams Frost Barbarian.

Athough a perusual of the faiths could need to be reworked since most barbarians "favor suel gods especially Vatun" but no big deal since I see it is an all dwarf game

Plz feel free to post more about your game as it develops, look forward to your updates.

PS. The LGG is terrific however the map although more detaile is also more stylized, so for a "simpler map" I suggest trying to download the Darlene version of GH. (Found on various GH sites and it's Free)
