Can anyone tell me names for days, month and the like the Barovian Calender use? And if it is similar to our world, which it seems as I have seen nothing else, have any of you got some interesting name-ideas?

The Barovian Calendar's months and days have the same names of our world.

In the Wine Cellar of the Fratenity of Shadows (www.fraternityofshadows.com), you'll find an excellent calendar of the current game year, complete with the holydays all around the Core.

Ciao.

I don't see a "wine cellar."

Anyway, isn't this evidence that Barovia was once part of a parallel version of Earth?

The "wine cellar" is one of the red options in the left column that should be always visible while you browse through the FoS website.

As for the lack of regional names being evidence it came from a "parallel Earth", that's hardly evidence at all. It just means the various authors who worked on Barovian material never bothered to create their own version. That's all (probably better too given what a mess the RL timeline is).

I know it's a usual to give a "new" calendar system to a new setting but in my experience most (if not all) players happily ignore it in favor of our own calendar. Easier to remember than the fluff.

If I had to make up one, I would probably use names based on various animals for the months and on duties to one's lord for the days. The year would be recorded in regard to the current ruler (i.e. day of harvest, month of the wolf, 13th year of Count Strahd the IXth)
