Gnolls- Gnolls are to Golalga as Orcs are to many other fantasy settings, innumerable, barbaric, irritants. Gnoll tribes wander the wasteland warring with everyone and everything. Recently the countless Gnoll tribes have became more than a simple agitation. Twenty years ago, under a brutal warlord, a Gnoll who had escaped from gladiatorial slavery named Gortha, led a horde of Gnolls, goblins, and kobolds on a bloody rampage slaughtering thousands and almost bring the Twelve Cities to their knees. Fortunately in fighting among the horde caused it to fracture and dematerialize.

Goblinoids- Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears are walking plague among the peoples of the Twelve Cities, whom they war with constantly. The only upside of the Goblinoid menace, in the eyes of the City-States is that their incessant wars provides them with a constant stream of disposable slaves in the forms of gobinoids taken prisoners in skirmishes. Unlike other settings Blues (psionic goblins) in Golalga are no outcast in Goblin society, and in fact most goblin tribes are rule by a blue or council of blues.

Kobolds – It is said that dragons once ruled all of Golalga, during the Green Age, centuries before the Starfall. This epoch of ancient history has now been relegated to mythic status and many scholars are unsure it is even true. But those who believe this mythic era to be true have evidence in the Kobold race. Small reptilian creatures with sorcererous power are common in the wasteland. While bands of kobold are a constant annoyance to the desert tribes, kobolds are actually accepted in the culture of the Twelve Cities. This is due mainly to the Kobold expertise in mining the major industry among the Twelve Cities.

Setting Note: Where have the Dragons Gone? In Golalga Dragon kind is missing, or lost. Scholars of history know that Dragons once existed in the time before the Starfall. Some believe they are just sleeping, waiting for a more pleasant age, others say that the Starfall caused their extinction, still others claim that they left Golalga for a more lush world abandoning the lesser races to their fate. Whatever the true cause of their disappearance, a ancient prophesy by a high cleric of Taalia named Elyshair claims that the Dragons shall one day return, and with this “fight of Dragons salvation shall be at hand”.

Githyanki- Trapped on Golalga from another home the murderous Githyanki have carved a bloody niche form themselves in the burning sands. Githyanki of Golalga are sand pirates, using secret psionic techniques, preserved from their plane of origin, to build fleets of ships that lowly above the wastelands. Because their numbers are relatively small the Githyanki have no real foothold on power, but are a constant nuisance to caravans crossing the Long Sand. The City-States have mounted no real offensive mostly because the Githyanki marauders are actually good for their economy because those captured by the Githyanki are most often sold into slavery.

Xill- Far to the North, across the deadly Crater Fields, the alien Xill rule a totalitarian Empire that seeks to consume all of Golalga. Thankfully, for the races of the Twelve Cities, they are separated from the Xill Imperium by five hundred mile of trackless wasteland of toxic ash and radioactive craters. Still the Xill of Golalga are psionicly powerful and have been able to send small groups of skirmishers and scouts to harass the peoples of the south. The Xill mindset is utterly alien when compared to that of the common races, their only desire is to implant their eggs into living being, and then to watch their hatchlings devour their host while still alive.

Yuan-ti- Known simply as the cursed, the Yuan-ti may be the most vile and despicable race on all of Golalga. It is believed that the Yaun-ti were humans once, who worshiped a snake demon known as Sseth. Not long after the Starfall, when history is murky, it is believed that the Yuan-ti attempted to help their demonic lord supplant the Sun Goddess. Of course they were met with utter failure, Taalia destroyed the demon price, and transformed his follower in hideous snake-like abominations now known as Yuan-ti. The Yuan-ti hate all of the other races of Golalga, especially any one who serves the Sun Goddess. Deep in the desert the Yuan-ti dwell in crumbling and forgotten cities, where they seek a means to rain their dread lord from the dead, and destroy the minions of Taalia. The only race who the Yuan-ti have dealings with are the lizardfolk, who often serve them as servitors and slaves. The Yuan-ti of Golalga have the traits of cobras, asps and rattle snakes.

Socrates of Sigil, you might want to keep all your related posts in one thread - the original thread - before you create several threads about the same subject, flooding the main page with them.
I'm not sure its in the CoC, but it ought to be, as its a sure-fire way of causing regulars to disregard all your posts in bulk. Sometimes these things even result in a message from a WizO.

Just informing you ;)

What is this anyway? These forums are supposed to be for DS. If you want to post about your own homebrew campaign setting there are boards for that too.

Specifically here. Although, you'll want to keep it all in one thread there, too.
