Was the animated series set in greyhawk or somewhere else? has there ever been stats released for warduke or vengar?

Funny thing is I still have a warduke action figure from the 80s in my collection :D

It wasn't specifically set in Greyhawk to my knowledge, though entities known on Oerth, like Lolth and Tiamat, appeared.

Warduke was statted as a Greyhawk character (a member of the Horned Society) in Dungeon #105.

If you do assume that the "Dungeons and Dragons ride" sucked Bobby and the others into the Flanaess, then Dungeon Master should be Zagyg.

D&D Cartoon! heh heh how timely.

DM as Zagyg, ummm perhaps though DM wasn't insane, was he?

DM as Zagyg, ummm perhaps though DM wasn't insane, was he?

He seemed to delight in riddles and obfuscation, appearing and disappearing abruptly for no apparent reason than to frustrate the adventurer kids, and occasionally he would do things like turn Eric into a baboon. And he gave Presto his hat, which is random and silly enough that it screams 'creation of Zagyg.'

Plus, Zagyg is named for Greyhawk's original Dungeon Master.

There were expert D&D stats for a number of the characters released in olden days:

Warduke.
Kelek
Strongheart

... that all appeared in this module: http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_295_320&products_id=1143&

The Shady Dragon Inn - http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_295_319&products_id=998& - also apparently had D&D stats for various characters from the AD&D toy line.

I think the recent Dungeon article made Warduke a blackguard. I forget.

In Dungeon #105 the Warduke was just an 18th-level Fighter.

He gained ten levels, then!

Yep. He must have run through a lot of Greyhawk adventures to get that high!

I think part of the rationale is the artifact helmet he has. It has probably made seeking danger and leveling much easier for him.
