"There is a standard trade language used throughout the Tyr Region, called Common or the trade tongue."

We all know that. What I'd like to know is: is there a Common alphabet???

I've tried to find this in the Core Rules (r5 and r6) and other 2 ed. but I couldn't .

Help?

Have you looked at Wisdom of the Drylanders on athas.org? It has a large section on language and writing, including discussion of the common tongue and alphabets used in the Tablelands.

Ooops, I'm sorry. It's been such a while this file isn't updated that I just forget to consult it sometimes when looking for info.

Thanks, Kam

Well, being a pure flavor product, it's pretty much immune to the mechanical churn that causes a bunch of other products to need updating ... ;)

Agree, but for instance, it could tell about the events in DA or just have a better layout...

Wisdom of the Drylanders is by far my favorite thing to come out of athas.org. I agree it could use some layout work, but the material on the Common language and the alphabet is fantastic.

Agreed on the layout, i.e. those weird uses of capital letters and such.

My brain is still internally bleeding from trying to decypher it all...
