For the past 12 years I have been playing the same character for D&D. First originaly started in 1st Edition AD&D and then later was converted over to 3.0/3.5 edition. This character name is Deavek Arkel, a Wizard born in Mulhorand but traveled to Krynn.

However my problem stems here. He arrived just after the War of Souls, and began exploreing Ansalon, during his travels he has encountered many Wizards and upon finding out he has never taken the test, but is a Wizard of considerable power (Epic Level) they assault him. Deavek has never initiated these assaults but has always finished them, resulting in the offending Wizards death.

The DM keeps tossing these Wizards, and many are powerful, but none have defeated him yet, NOR despite his many overtures, have they responded to diplomacy. I am here to ask, DOES he have to take the test since he isnt from Krynn, even if he is willing to TAKE ON a color of Robes of a particular Order while on Krynn? AND would the Wizards be willing to keep tossing Wizards at him despite him literaly anhilating them, sometimes four at a time?

Please let me know, I shall show your responses to my DM. I hope I explained it well enough here, if not let me know.

There aren't going to be very many wizards left if an epic level wizard from Mulhorand shows up and blasts away all of the ones that have managed to get together right after the War of Souls. It's true that he needs to take the Test, but I would imagine the Conclave (such as it is) would get the point soon enough that he's out of their league and just try to approach him from another angle.

Cheers,

a) first i think you have to examine how you get your magical power since wizardary in toril comse from an entirely diffrent source (the weave or shadow weave) then in krynn (the 3 moons or chaos)

b) IMO if there was a wizard of such vast power on krynn at this point in the time line that would threaten the towers of high sorcery so much it thin one or all of the three moons would intervine in some way

c) only black robes generyally attack renegade wizards first, red robes generally have a discorse and try to convert them, and white robes go to great lengths to help them "see the light" before battleing them

Is he planning on staying in Krynn?

No he isnt staying, just gathering knowledge about it. He is perhaps staying a few years gathering knowledge and spells from it, and then leaving. I have made it known he has no intention of staying.

Then I wouldnt take the Test since the benefits would not follow you to Fauren, ie Moon Magic, Tower Resources, etc.
