Hi,
I've played and master DL moduls 15 years ago, with first ad&d edition (no rules, only roleplay with this version, no ?????)
So i planned to master the campaign again, today. And i asking me if i use my precious first edition or if i look for today books.
What are your feedback ? Is dd3 better ? Why ? I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Loran

3 words: yes it is. Nuff said.

What's more, soon you won't even have to struggle to convert those old 1e modules. Look at what's coming..

Precious first edition!!!... well yes, DLA hardcover is a treasure, but when it comes to game system, D20 is far better. I miss the speed modifier by weapon... in fact i should recycle that rule, anyway when it comes to guidelines for combat is far more specif and demands for a grid which leaves no place for ambiguity, classes are truly different now and prestige classes are a nice addition, xp rewards are more accurate... guess i would go on and on, because 3e improved the system a lot since the old TSR days, as many mature DMs (cant believe i just wrote that!!I) i rejected it for a while but u'll find out that many home brew rules are now official so give it a try.

Roleplaying is nice, specially if u r playing with grown ups instead of silly teenagers (no offense kids, just a bad DM experience.)

We reintroduced speed factors and Spell segments, and it worked well. We also introduced a hybrid of 23 and 3e movement based on segments, squares, and movement rate (from 3e retrofitted to fit the former). It worked well.
