Anyone converted the Carnival to 3rd ed?

Jan 18, 2006 1:10:29 I got this thing cheap ($3ish cheap) and thought itd be great to have the Carnival show up in the Mournlands of Eberron once...anyone converted it?

Feb 09, 2006 12:56:30 There's also a write-up of it in the Sword & Sorcery ravenloft accessory "Champions of Darkness" (which you can get pretty cheap at the white wolf online store, or via amazon or ebay). I don't recall that they did any of the NPC's though. The fraternity of shadows has some carnival stuff in one of their "Quoth the Raven" net book supplements too.

Feb 10, 2006 14:02:52 The Champions of Darkness writeup is very short and pure fluff/text with no stats. Also, the book has other flaws, which have doubtlessly been discussed over here a few times (hint: search for "Sheriff von Zarovich").

Feb 19, 2006 13:36:45 I wrote a few of the Carnival conversions, but I haven't had time to post more (sorry). The real trick to converting the Carnival Troupers to 3.5 is to figure out their Outcast Ratings. In 2E, the Carnival characters halved their Charisma score when dealing with the public, but in 3.5, I think an OR works better. It makes them much more threatening (OR adds to Intimidate) especially the ones like the Hideous Man-beast, or the Brute.
