I allways felt that the ranger's favored terrain is too weak compared to his favored enemy class feature. Here are some thoughts of mine that would help to make the favored terrain more attractive by taking feats.

Cover Tracks [GENERAL]
You learned how to cover the tracks in your terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Track, Survival 6 ranks
Benefit: While traveling within a favored terrain, you can grant for every +2 bonus you have in this terrain by the favored terrain class feature one medium creature the benefit of trackless step (see page 36 of the Player’s Handbook). A large creature counts as two medium creatures (1 huge = 4 medium, etc.) and two small creatures count as one medium creature (4 tiny = 1 medium, etc.). You always count as a medium creature, regardless of your size.

Trap Spotter [GENERAL]
You have an eye for noticing traps in you terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Search 1 rank
Benefit: While traveling within a favored terrain, you can find difficult nonmagical traps (DC 21 of higher). In addition you receive the bonus from your favored terrain class feature on search checks made within this terrain.
Normal: You can use Search to find traps whose DC is 20 or lower, only a rouge can us Search to locate traps with higher DCs.

Favored Stride [GENERAL]
Within your favored terrain you find paths through the undergrowth that are easier and safer to walk through.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Survival 7 ranks
Benefit: While traveling within a favored terrain, you can grant for every +2 bonus you have in this terrain by the favored terrain class feature one medium creature the benefit of woodland stride (see page 48 of the Player’s Handbook). A large creature counts as two medium creatures (1 huge = 4 medium, etc.) and two small creatures count as one medium creature (4 tiny = 1 medium, etc.). You always count as a medium creature, regardless of your size.

Fast Pathways [GENERAL]
You can walk faster than usual through you favorite terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Survival 11 ranks
Benefit: While traveling within a favored terrain, you gain an enchantment bonus on your speed of +5 feet for every +2 bonus you have from your favored terrain class feature. This benefit applies only when you are wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor and not carrying a heavy load. Aply this bonus before modifying you speed because of any load carried or armor worn.

These are my basic ideas. There's pretty much room for improvement, so let me know what you think

Wow, i like them! Is there precedence for feats that temporarily confere a class ability to others?

I particularly like Fast Pathways, nice!

Spider sense?

Really cool abilities, though.

None that I know of, but I thought this would make sense for these abilities. I think they are all within a logic sense of thinking. Maybe favored stride should have a range, or one can only benfit from this feat if he's in a line of sight to the ranger, so it gets more difficult to abuse?

Spider sense?

Well .... not quite the name I was looking for.

Trap Spotter?

I can't think of anythink better, yet.

The basic idea was:
Ranger walks through his favored terrain. Suddently he notices something he has never seen in this terrain before....a trap.

Something like this.

Just thought I would help out by editing your text for grammer and clarity.

Cover Tracks [GENERAL]
You learned how to cover the tracks in your terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Track, Survival 6 ranks
Benefit: While traveling within your favored terrain, you can grant for every +2 bonus you have in this terrain by the favored terrain class feature one medium creature the benefit of trackless step (see page 36 of the Player’s Handbook). A large creature counts as two medium creatures (1 huge = 4 medium, etc.) and two small creatures count as one medium creature (4 tiny = 1 medium, etc.). You always count as a medium creature, regardless of your size.

One of the following should be added as well, though I'm not sure which you would prefer.

1. [Beggining]: Choose a type of terrain for which you have take the favored terrain class feature.
[Ending]:You may take this feat multiple times. Each time you take it it applies to a different type of favored terrain.
2. [Edit to 1st line]: While traveling within a favored terrain,...

I could see it either way.

Trap Spotter [GENERAL]
You have an eye for noticing traps in you terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Search 1 rank
Benefit: While within your favored terrain, you can find difficult nonmagical traps (DC 21 of higher). In addition you receive the bonus from your favored terrain class feature on search checks made within this terrain.
Normal: You can use Search to find traps whose DC is 20 or lower, only a rouge can us Search to locate traps with higher DCs.

Again do you want this to apply to all favored terrains or just one?

Favored Stride [GENERAL]
Within your favored terrain you find paths through the undergrowth that are easier and safer to walk through.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Survival 7 ranks
Benefit: While traveling through your favored terrain, you can grant for every +2 bonus you have in this terrain by the favored terrain class feature one medium creature the benefit of woodland stride (see page 48 of the Player’s Handbook). A large creature counts as two medium creatures (1 huge = 4 medium, etc.) and two small creatures count as one medium creature (4 tiny = 1 medium, etc.). You always count as a medium creature, regardless of your size.

Again do you want this one to effect one or all favored terrains you have? Also, I think that it has limited application on most types of favored terrain, maybe the ability should be rewritten so that it can be used with more types of terrain.

Fast Pathways [GENERAL]
You can walk faster than usual through you favorite terrain.
Prerequisites: Favored Terrain, Survival 11 ranks
Benefit: While within your favored terrain, you gain an enchantment bonus on your speed of +5 feet for every +2 bonus you have from your favored terrain class feature. This benefit applies only when you are wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor and not carrying a heavy load. Aply this bonus before modifying you speed because of any load carried or armor worn.

Same question as before.

If you do have these apply to all favored terrains taken, it would allow for diversification of favored terrain types with full benefits from the feats. If not, it would encorage specializing in one terrain more heavily. Either way there is still a benefit to focusing one one terrain. Also, the feats are much more apealing if they apply to all favored terrain types, so I would personally go with that option.

Thanks for the help, I edited the text using uption 2., because the benefits of all feats should affect all favored terrain types a ranger has chosen. As for the Favored Stride feat, I don't know how it could be rewritten. Maybe you could me give an idea of what you have in mind?
