I have a 14 lvl character (11 fighter 3 steel legionnaire) who is a minotaur. As you know my PrC grants me the ability to have an appretince and i have a 12 lvl minotaur monk (4 fighter 2 monk 5 reaping mauler 1 barbarian). Do you believe that i ruin the DL atmosphere?

A little. You are also starting to suffer from MC/PrC bloat.

The minotaurs are one of the few groups in DL that I could see developing a Monkish tradition. It plays to both their physical and mental abilities as well as the lawful outlook of their society.

btw-how can one have Lawful monk and Chaotic barbarian, without losing a lot of bennies?

I dont like characters based on class benefits instead of a story background, they not just ruin DL atmosphere; they bend the rules in an anoying way ¬¬

I mean; i like strong characters (mine specially hehehe), but i hate to see the game turned into numbers... ok, it works with numbers but before that is a ROLE PLAYING GAME. So as a DM I demand to role play!!!

Once i had a fighter/monk minotaur among my gaming group, he had a very creative background, he was a proud gladiator who was defeated in the coliseum, and right after tried to loose his anger on a beggar who actualy was a monk of Majere and converted him!

Actually he is an ex-monk.He retains his class abilities but he can't level up as a monk.

*shrugs* Sometimes a variety of classes is the best way to represent a particular character concept. Not often, but it does happen.

I've always thought the classes should be listed as you took them. It does such a nice job of character bio.

A minotaur monk is fine. I'm sure they have a few of them battling in the arena back on Mithas. But a minotaur fighter/ex-monk/barbarian/reaping mauler looks fishy, especially for a cohort. Remember what the Leadership feat description says:
A character can try to attract a cohort of a particular race, class, and alignment.

See how class is in singular form? This may include a prestige class, so you might tell your DM: "I'm trying to recruit a TN barbarian/reaping mauler minotaur" and see what comes up. Alternatively, you may also ask a character you've already met to become your cohort but, in either way, you don't get to make the stats of that cohort. You should let your DM make the stats of your cohort based on what you tell him you're looking for. After all, you don't get to make the stats for the innkeeper who runs the place where you sleep, or the priest who heals you after your adventures, so why should you do it for the allies who follow you in battle?

I second that. Letting the player stat out both his character and the character of the cohort is a little too much min/maxing IMO. It effectively means the player has two characters of (potentially) maximum strength and efficiency, rather than one plus the luck of the draw (DM designed).
