This book appeared in my gaming store last week, and detailed the history of D&D, including descriptions and art about each setting.

Although the book didnt seem to offer enough material of interest for me to buy it (or indeed anything I didn't know already), I did flip through the book to read the part about Mystara.

"It was pulp sword and sorcery at it's best" was the comment that stood out (and was highlighted)as the description of Mystara. Also, parts about chivalry and classic heroes are things I remember.

"Never far to the next kindom".

"Never took itself terribly seriously."

These are a few more quotations I remember.

Is this an adequate description of Mystara?

Sadly, all the art used was from the AD&D version of Mystara. Although not bad, the gazetteer art would have been something that I'm sure would have brought back more memories from the readers...

Still, it is always nice to see Mystara being mentioned in a WotC product...
