i know that back in the TSR days they were trying to connect all the dnd worlds (dark sun, spelljammer, oerth, faerun, planescape, ravenloft, etc) but, i was wondering if anyone knows if the original dark sun and ravenloft creators were trying to show a link between THE GREY and the ravenloft MIST?

Or maybe Athas itself is a land made by the dark powers, to imprison someone else. Maybe it is the case the Rajaat is the Lord, and this is his prison, and that is why he never seems to go away. Maybe Athas is a demiplane of dread all its own, or a proto demiplane, to test out the results, with Rajaat as the first "tragic" victim.

I always had this idea that maybe athas was the dreams of a dying God, and the grey was the haze of his thoughts, and that defiling magic really hastened the death of the god that was dreaming athas.

No, to my knowledge there was absolutely NO connection (intended or otherwise) between the Gray and Ravenloft. The only reason that travel to Ravenloft was considered *possible* was because the conduits to the Ethereal Plane (where Ravenloft is located) are not completely closed off like those to the Astral... hence the reason that elemental clerical magic is possible. There is no connection between the two apart from this. I think this has been discussed before... I seem to remember reading a thread on this subject a while back.

i know this, i just thought it would be interesting if this was the case, it makes sense, but not with the feel of either gaming world.
