AD&D Adventures - any worth buying?

Anyone think any of the original TSR adventures are worth buying? I'm buying some other stuff from rpgnow.com, thought I might check out some of them while I was at it...

The group in my campaign is (so far) connected to a trading house in Tyr (undercover strike team , going to run Tyrian Conspiracy and Merchant House of Amketch in rather modified versions soon.

Not just looking for pure adventures to convert, but also for background material (is e.g. Dragon's Crown worth buying for info on psionics and the Order?) and any adventures I might run anyway if they're good enough! And no, it's not the huge wads of cash...but rather the time, which is rather more of a precious resource

While I'm at it, are there any sources at all on the Kreen Empire, either amateur or in any books (pretty sure there isn't, just checking)?

Appreciate any and all answers!

Athas.org has a listing of all of the AD&D 2e products for Dark Sun, which are available for purchase as PDF's from RPGNow, if memory serves. Pretty much all the 2e materials has its uses for different things.

And the book "Thri-Kreen of Athas" does detail, somewhat extensively, much of the Kreen Empire.

I don't think athas.org has such a listing (not that I can see at a quick glance anyway), besides, bought a lot of it a while back Some stuff is obviously good (like Veiled Alliance) while other is pretty much crap (like Beyond the Pentad Prism), I'm asking for adventures that people've really liked, either for background or for the story

Hrm yeah, forgot to mention I have that one There is very little about the Empire in there though...a little about the nations of Jeral, J'hol and J'ez ("beyond" Thaythilor and the Jagged Cliffs), but that's about it, other than naming the Emperor.

Freedom and Road to Urik are my favorites, but there are really hard to fit into a campaign unless you are planning on playing the offical timeline. Many of the encounters could be lifted and used individually though. Lots of good city encounters and plots in Road to Urik.

Arcane Shadows is a good preluded to Dragon Crown.
Dragon Crown is very good but very long. If time is a problem you may not want to run it, but again, many of the encounters could be lifted out. There is even a book of side encounters that can be used anywhere.

Black Flames and Asticlian Gambit are forgetable.

Any of the others are alright.

As for the Kreen Empire I think it is mentioned only in the 2nd box set, Thri-kreen of Athas, and the Windriders. Not much detail in each one. I believe Thri-kreen of Athas had the most info though.

I meant to say "most extensive", in that it has the most information. There isn't much about the Kreen Empire. I think that was a planned future project that never got a chance to go beyond conceptualization.

http://athas.org/products.php

It's at the very bottom of the main page, listed under "Products." I'm pretty sure that the ESD links are no longer viable, though. Hope that helps a bit.

EDIT: The PDFs are indeed available from RPGNow, however... just not from SVGames anymore, I don't think.

Ah, right. Too bad really, I think the Kreen Empire makes for a very cool nemesis (especially if you add the 'descended from halflings' idea of yours xlor, which I really like) :evillaugh

Yea.... I've tossed around ideas on the Kreen.... If I had more time and energy to devote to it, I'd probably try fleshing them out a bit more myself.
