Also, as I work in a bookstore, I noticed that it seems Laurell K Hamilton's "Death of a Darklord" is to be rereleased in July...

Death of a Darklord, I'm pretty sure, is a re-issue: the tale of Casimir, a son of Harkon Lukas.
::edit:: Wrong story, right idea: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0786901128/102-4990541-5828138?v=glance&n=283155 With the suffix to the title, though, I wonder if we are seeing a resurgence in the fiction... please?::

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft? BOUGHT. I would like to see something from Cordell and/or Wyatt so we can, en masse, sing their praises and lift their names up on the angelic wings of hymns, offering up their glory for all to see... well, maybe those of you that can sing could do that. Or something.

::Ahem:: Sorry. What DOES this bode for us?

I'm not pushing, but I sure am CURIOUS...

Thing is if they are reissuing Death of a Darklord...what could that bode for the other Ravenloft Novels of yore? New or just all reissued, why would DoaD be the first done as it was a lack-luster novel compared to Vampire of the Mists of Knight of the Black Rose...

Also, Bruce Cordell doing Ravenloft? The Psionics-Master trapped in the Mists...what about WOTC's lack of plan for the return of their ownership of Ravenloft...smokescreen and this has been in the works a while now?

Personally I think it is just the Dark Powers tempting us with the promise of future Ravenloft products....another Tatyana/Strahd circle...Ravenloft is done 2e....Ravenloft is back WWe...Ravenloft is Done (Licence Reversion)...Ravenloft is back?(NOW)...

This has already been discussed extensively over at The Fraternity Of Shadows website forum. Search further on Amazon and you will also see that there are two more re-releases of Ravenloft novels in what is being called "The Ravenloft Covenant"; 'Vampire of the Mists' in September, and 'I, Strahd, Memoirs of a Vampire' in November. The current belief as to why these three where chosen for re-printing, especially 'Death of A Darklord' (usually denounced as one of the worst novels in the entire old Ravenloft series), is the potential marketability & sales due to the authors involved, Laurell K. Hamilton, Christie Golden (who recently visisted the FoS forum to answer questions about her other book 'Dance of the Dead'), and P. N. Elrod.

I will not get over-excited about this. Consider it my April Fool's Day resolution; I will not get over-excited about this.

::edit - Blast you, stupid, insipid Smilies.::
:: Preparing for the move of the Ravenloft forum out of the Abyss of the Other Roleplaying Worlds::

Dance of the Dead was a GREAT read. I, Strahd, and Vampire of the Mists - both great. I just re-read I, Strahd... You gotta wonder why they're re-releasing DoaD instead of Heart of Darkness, though.

I will not get over-excited about this.

I'll let myself get trapped anytime for new Ravenloft stuff! But... this makes me believe this could be the begining of a new life (an unlife?) for our dear Demiplane. I sure hope so.

Plus, what I am thinking is that D&D 3.5 is going to an end. I'd say it's got bearly 3 years left and then, the 4th edition will be out, and that is why they are waiting to make any Ravenloft announcement. (Note that this is just my believes, NOT reality.)
