From the SRD
"...The subject’s creature type and subtype (if any) change to match the new form....
...The subject gains the Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores of the new form but retains its own Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. It also gains all extraordinary special attacks possessed by the form but does not gain the extraordinary special qualities possessed by the new form or any supernatural or spell-like abilities."

Maybe I'm wrong, I don't have much experience with polymorph, but wouldn't a SK lose his great Str, Dex, and Con as well as all his abilities if he polymorphed into a human? I also noticed in the dragon rules they didn't seem to gain thier immunity to polymorph from thier dragon levels as much as thier champoin template.

If a SK took on human form I would think they become much more vunerable to being polymorphed into a kank. Especially if ruled that if an SK volentarily lowers his polymorph immunity to become human, he couldn't use that immunity when attacked without reverting to dragon form. Personally, I'd choose to shroud myself in illusion then break my cover or risk being a kank.

Just a random thought while wandering about today. Really wanted to turn my flatmate into a kank, or maybe an aprig for a few hours.

I think there was a discussion over transmutation immunitiy in a thread called "champion of Rajaat". You might find answers to your brainstorm there ;)

In the novels the SKs human appearenece was basically a very advanced psionic/magical illusion so they didn't actually change shape. In D&D illusions can also be quasi real up to the point you can touch them and they feel real. In Darksun it would appear they can even have sex with the illusion and the person they're with wouldn't know. In Dragonlance one of the characters had sex with a Lich using illusions so even D&D authors have used this idea several times.

If a SK did actually polymorph into a human by the rules they would becoime weaker and probably lose any immunity to polymorph effects they have.

Polymorph has been errataed. I believe you no longer gain the type of the creature you polymorph into.

How so?

The polymorph errata didn't actually change the polymorph spell at all; it removed references to the spell from just about all other sources to make them more balanced and redefined abilities as necessary (like wild shape, baleful polymorph, etc).
