Under the racial acceptance rules, what would Irda fall under? Would they be easy or challengeing when it comes to fitting in to a society(when not using their shapechanging powers)?

Challenging. Irda have never been trusted, and now they're reviled for their part in the Chaos War.

Cheers,

Thanks for the speedy reply. In the acceptance rules, I was a little vague, how does shapechanging powers affect your rating? Do people treat you as what you're pretending to be, if they fail to see through your disguise check? Do you still seem a little off? Obviously if they succeed they won't trust you because you're pretending to be something you're not and they know it. However, they don't know the specifics.

Having just read the acceptance rule in Bestiary of Krynn (something I hadn't done before), it seems to me that your answers are answered pretty clearly there.

As a race that's extremely rare on Ansalon, the Irda should have the DC of their acceptance checks increased by +2, which replaces the bonus or penalty due to alignment. (Rarity, p.143)

By creating a successful disguise and passing as something else, a character is able to negate the penalties caused by its nature. However, should the disguise be detected, most people will assume the character is a spy with ill intentions and some may take immediate actions against him. (Disguise, p.144)

In my opinion, the attitude of NPCs of a given place toward a monstrous PC shouldn't be too hard to figure out for a DM who knows DragonLance, and gaining acceptance should be more a matter of roleplaying than rolling a die to make an acceptance check every level. Still, if you want to use these optionnal rules, it isn't really hard to set the DC once you've understood all the modifiers that can be be applied to it.

While I have no doubt you're correct Borris, the only problem is I don't have my copy of the Bestiary of Krynn right now. Hence the questions. Thanks for the clarification on shapechanging and acceptance(I didn't say the section was vague, I meant my understanding of it was).
