In the version of the 3E Mystara campaign book that I've been working on for a while now (a long while, admittedly) I have a sidebar in there that talks about this a little.

I currently have an overall campaign conversion project going on. My monster conversions are the first major dent into it. If I don't move to the Savage Coast monsters after the Known World critters, I will probably start looking at the various player races. After that I have a bunch of classes/prestige classes/substituion levels to go with. From there, who knows?

I certainly don't want to duplicate efforts, so if people already have items converted (or nearly so) I will try to avoid working on that area of the conversion.

I've got a lot of piecemeal things going on with my own conversion efforts- basically, whatever I get in the mood to work with at any given time. I've got several Monster Conversion projects that I've done (most of which I've put by the wayside since Traianus began his massive conversion), I've got a lot of preliminary notes on Character Creation, some Prestige Class info (the ongoing Witch is part of that). I'll look at what I have tonight to try and give a more general idea of what I'm doing, and see if anyone is interested in taking a further look.

One thing after reading Traianus' post about Savage Coast monsters- I actually have a big 3E conversion of the Red Steel MC ongoing right now- I have reformatted the download from Wizards basically, and am changing the statistics and things. It's not a fast effort- some monsters are easier than others, and some of the monsters are awaiting a finalization of my concepts regarding Cinnabryl Poisoning/Taint (the rules version of the "Red Curse" that I am using).

I'd love to be a part of a 3E conversion but I have to be realistic about this: I simply don't have the time. And if I find some time I am going to priortize getting my regular games up and running again then second re-starting by own Secret Project (TM) that crashed and burned last July... (or just ran out of fuel). :P

Are you using the Dragon 3E Red Steel conversion as a basis, or is it completely your own? One reason I haven't decided on the Savage Coast monsters yet is I have been wrestling with whether or not to use the "official" conversion- it didn't seem like they put much thought into it, but it presents a starting point to do the conversions.

At the moment I'm trying to work with the Taint rules (from OA and UA), to try and make them mesh more with the original rules as presented in VotPA by Bruce Heard. I didn't really like the Dragon version, myself.

Still tweaking it, though. I'd like to take a look at the Heroes for Horror variation of Taint as a possible way to make it work, but I haven't picked up a copy yet.
