Hey All,
I've been looking through my old DS modules as well as the conversions in various Dungeon and Dragon magazines and the forums, but I've yet to see anything that resembles the Wild Talent schtick from the 2E stuff. I've also looked through the Expanded Psionics Handbook and haven't seen anything that would match a random talent given at character creation. Have any of you made conditions for something like this, because in my opionion it just wouldn't feel like Dark Sun if everyone didn't have the chance to have a natural psionic power.
Thanks for your prompt replies

Expanded Psionics Handbook Page 67 has the hidden talent feat in the box at the foot of the page, which gives 1 power and two power points

In the big scheme of things, would giving out this feat to all players at character creation (for free) be game breaking in your opionion?

No- I give all my PCs a free wild talent (1st lvl power), usable twice per day that automatically augments (they have a ML of 1/2 character level). Or if they get a 2nd lvl power it is useable once per day.

I made, but should update, a random chart for giving these to the PCs, who get to roll a % to determine which one they get (totally 2e there).

nice, if you manage to get that chart updated, post it here please.
to clarify then, you don't require power points to manifest the power? you treat it kinda like a # / day magic item?

Yes, I'm pimping these feats yet again

You may find these of use if you wish to give your players more options for their characters to develop their wild/hidden psionic talents further.
IMPROVED HIDDEN TALENT [PSIONIC]
Your potential to manifest your psionic wild talent increases.
Prerequisite: Chr 13, Hidden Talent.
Benefit: You can manifest your psionic talent as a manifester equal to half your character level (minimum of 1st level manifester). Additionally, your Charisma modifier now grants you bonus power points based on your new manifester level. See Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points for details.
Special: You cannot take or use this feat if you already have levels in a manifester class.

GREATER HIDDEN TALENT [PSIONIC]
You unlock another hidden talent of higher level.
Prerequisite: Effective manifester level 4th, Hidden Talent, Improved Hidden Talent.
Benefit: You can select and manifest a power of 2nd level. You can choose a 2nd level power from any discipline or class list. This feat may only be selected once.

Where'd ya get those?

They're home brew rules which I created with the help of the folks on the psionics board.

Its the chart found in the EPH or the psionic classes section of the SRD.

Here's a link to the SRD:

No prob. Just be aware if you use these feats it opens the character to select the Expanded Knowledge feat in order to gain 1st level powers as well.
