ENWorld poster Alzrius received his copy of Dragon #344 and posted some tidbits about it. The information most pertinent to us here:

This is all the additional info thus far:

Are there stats in the Princess Ark article? Or is it all descriptive?

Except for the sidebar with the elixer, it's all descriptive. Not even the most abbreviated stat blocks are given. The sidebar on the ship itself just refers you to the Champions of Mystara boxed set.

What sort of information does it have on Alphatia?

It's totally fluff text, if that's what you mean. The sidebar is three paragraphs long. The first one gives an overview of the nation itself. The second one largely deals with how Alphatia views the Empire of Thyatis and the Principalities of Gantri. The third one talks about their artifact, and how the the immortals are disputing regarding it, since it might "run amok if tampered with" and that would "erase magic on Mystara for some time."

Hmm... this Alphatian artifact sounds more like the Nucleus of the Spheres than anything else. I wonder if post-Wrath the Alphatians are tampering with something similar (to try and tip the scales in their favor), or else the article takes place prior to WotI (which is my guess).

Didn't Alzrius' description say this was a "lost" article, which would've been pre-WotI.

Thanks for keeping us updated on this Andrew, it gets more interesting with every little detail we learn!

Since the article deals with Haldemars relationship with the Alphatian Emperess, I assumed from the start it would be pre-WotI. My guess is actually that the artifact in question is the Radience and that your source is confused about whose artifact it is. Ofcourse, if I am wrong, that would be interesting too...

Alzrius confirmed that the artifact in question was the Glantrian Nucleus of the Spheres, and the Alphatian's views on such.

He says there is no date to the log entry, just that the episode is numbered "36", so he assumes it is contemporary with the other Princess Ark episodes. Given the discussion of the NoS and the numbering, I'm inclined to believe that is the case, but I suppose we'll know for sure when the issue is released.

It is indeed straight after the previous princess ark episodes, and runs from Sulamir 14th AY 2001 - Sulamir 17th AY 2001

6 euro 50 for 6 pages worth of content, I think it was worth it :-)

Cool! 6 pages aint bad. I was worried it might be cut down to 2 pages or something, considering the length of most Dragon articles lately.

I'm glad to hear you are happy with your copy. I'll be ready to discuss it all in a few weeks... :D

BTW, it is interesting that this has once again put the discussion of a VotPA collection back on the schedule. Look here for details:
