Okay, where can I find a timeline of events that have occurred on Athas? Preferably annotated with a bibliography. There's one for Forgotten Realms, I would hope that one exists for Dark Sun.

As found in the Dark Sun Forum Archive, stickied at the top of the page, is the link to the timeline.

Wait...So Rajaat survived for 5000 years before he even started studying magic? How?

Quoted directly from the timeline:

"The thri-kreen prophet Ka'Cha begins the first of several journeys across the Tablelands to spread the word of peace and enlightenment to the thri-kreen, as well as other races."

Does anyone have or know of any information on this? Finding this to be quite interesting. Actually as I am reading the timeline, I'm coming up with tons of questions on characters and events that took place. Wish there would be more information on many of these things, but I guess that work is left up to all of us.

A pyreen's lifespan is very long, actual number unknown. Besides, pyreens are masters of the Way and great druids, so their lifespan might be further prolonged.

Meh, sounds like crap. One more thing to rewrite.

Care to elaborate on the crap factor?

Many of the pyreens living today remember a time before the Dragon existed, and a very few remember one of their own inventing arcane magic. Those pyreens are called Peacebringers, in opposition to the title given to Rajaat - Warbringer.

The supposition many of the fans have made about the pyreens is as follow: After the nature-masters had transformed into the orcs, humans, elves, aarakocras, gnomes, and others, the last ones of them chose to become a blend of all of those races, with intentionnaly long lifespans so they could watch over the new races in their infancy. They retain part of their past knowledge and in time have gained much more, choosing to let go of their half-forgotten lifeshaping knowledge for a stronger bond to nature, taking up the druid way.

Most pyreens of today are children of those that first appeared, and have known no other thing than the Green Age and Brown Age, and bare no half-forgotten memories of the Blue Age but what their elders have imparted unto them. They have an innate connection to the land, a near-immortal viewpoint on existence, and an abiding love for the new life that was created during the Rebirth. They are the hidden protectors of the land, never seen or heard, but perhaps glimpsed once in the shadow of a small desert beast scurrying away.

I would suggest you actually *read* the flavor text on the Pyreen before making comments like this. ;)

Unsupported and uninformed comments like this will set a lot of people off- If there is someting that you do not like about it then tell us way, we are all willing to discuss ideas, but making back-handed comments and just leaving it out there with no reason why is not too popular here.

Just a friendly FYI.
