There have been numerous csting threads on here, one part thta I always find hard to "cast" myself and othes seem to have trouble with is Goldmoon. However after watching her in The Ring of the Nibelungs, Kristanna Loken would be PERFECT to play Goldmoon. First shes beautiful and looks great with the golden coloured hair. She looks slightly forgien. She can play the strong, "warrior" woman, leader and queen that Goldmoon has too. She would perfect to play one of hte most important roles in a DL movie.

Kaz the Minotaur is my favourite DragonLance character. I think he should be a CGI effect (but a really good one, like Gollum) voiced by Ron Perlman, who played Hellboy, Reinhardt in Blade 2, and the Beast in the ol' Beauty and the Beast TV show.

A couple others I didn't have time for

Tanis - Nathan Fillion. Hes got the right look and is about the right age (always helps). He always brings the attitude to his charactesr that Tanis should, hes a leader but hes not (using Slither as an example) the type of leader who goes "Zombies, aim for the head", hes "Zombies? WHAT?", which is what Tanis should be. He brings that presence of someone that is a natural leader, but also doesn't quite know what hes going to do. I think he'd get that "burden" of leadership that Tanis carries across.

Sturm - Clive Owen. Hes got the perfect look, the perfect build and the ability to play that solum, lonely, quiet yet respected character.

Caramon and Raistlin - Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Millar. They look a lot a like, and the brothers they play on prison break have almost hte same relationship that Caramon and Raistlin do. Purcell is bigger and plays the "street smart" brother who looks after the other. Millar has the perfect look of someone with more going on "behind his eyes". These two ARE what Caramon and Raistlin are. Plus they've already played brothers.

Tas - Ryan Reynolds. He looks young (as Tas should) and can play both comedy and action, which Tas would have too. He also has/can put on a very innocent looking face.

sluggo, we hear all of this from you every time you post to a DL movie thread. If I recall you also want John Rhys-Davies for Flint because "he's already played a dwarf."

Cheers,
Cam

I remember in one issue of Dragon magazine, they were talking about who could be which character in a possible movie, and they suggested Christopher Lambert. You know, Connor MacLeod from Highlander. That would be funny. Really, really funny.

I have a cast list that has evolved over the years since I started playing DragonLance in highschool (that would be around, oh, 10 years). My current incarnation of the list has David Wenham (Faramir) as Tanis. He looks like Tanis and can wear the same duds well. I know he's already played the ranger/leader type, but hey, if the shoe fits. Now that my best match is out of the way, here's my list for the rest. Its incomplete, but alot of my old choices are now too old for the parts they'd play. My list includes the DL character, actor, and the role that actor has played that makes them fit for the DL role.

Tanis: David Wenham (Faramir)
Sturm: Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan)
Theros Ironfeld: Michael Clark Duncan (no specific role)
Kitiara: Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Elistan: Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn)

That's all I can remember off hand. I must consult the list and I'll return with an update. Feel free to leave feedback for my choices, positive or negative.

Tanis: David Wenham (Faramir)

I think that he would be a better Riverwind
Sturm: Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan)

I dont see this. But i have had a hard time seeing the right person for Sturm. Probably a no-name actor would be best.
Theros Ironfeld: Michael Clark Duncan (no specific role)
Kitiara: Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Elistan: Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn)

I have seen these online before.

Im still a fan of either Keria Knightly or Angelina Jolie as Kitiara. ;)

Here are some of my older choices. Keep in mind that these were from around 10 years ago, so they fit a little better back then.

Tanis: Keifer Sutherland (Athos, Disney's Three Musketeers)

Raistlin/Caramon: Val Kilmer (Doc Holliday, Tombstone- can pull off broody and sickly pretty well; Mad Martigan, "Willow"-cocky jovial warrior-type) He'd play dual roles, but doing sickly and buff at the same time would be a big stretch

Tika: Dina Meyer (red-head peasant from Dragonheart, can't remember her name)

Justarius: Tim Curry (Cardinal Richlieu, Disney's Three Musketeers-I know he isn't evil, but
Curry can pull off his haughty personality and looks like Justarius in the few illustrations that have been done of him)

Fizban: Patrick Stewart (Professor X-for his more lucid/Paladine-esque moments;good enough actor to pull off zany and crothety) this is an old pick supported by a current role.

More later. Anyone else though of someone to fill Tas and Flint's shoes? Let's see if we can find someone besides John Rhys-Davies for Flint, we know he can do a tough, young-ish dwarf like Gimli, but what about old, grumpy, grandfatherly Flint?

Hands down, Paul Bettany got a lock on the Raistlin role.

His portrayal as the albino monk in The Da Vinci Code makes for strong argument.
