Psionics as Skills?

Has anyone played with the Psionics as skills system like D20 Modern, Spycraft, or how Star Wars does the Force?

I really like the psi checks, just like 2nd Ed Psionics. It makes Psionics feel different than magic, which is what I don't like about 3E psionics.

Does anyone know of any threads that discuss something like this? In Dark Sun or the regular Psionics boards? I've already used GOOGLE to search these forums but searches such with the words of Psionics and Skills or variants comes up with tons of results.

Thanks.

Check out seker's system, it mixes 2e psionics w/ d20 modern mechanics.

The skill checks would be cool, but that might unbalance the game a little...but not sure. I could see that happening however. Problem is, what about the other abilities? you could always rig that up though

I think i will dig out my starwars book and put out some stuff...

You could check the Psychic's Handbook, published by Green Ronin. It describes a system for Psionincs as skills, and it is what I decided to use in my Dark Sun Games. I added a few skills to have all the powers that were in the 2ed, and I think this is more in the DS flavor. There are many options to include this system in your campaign (even in a modern campaign). I tried it once and it runs very well.

It sounds like the Psychic's Handbooks is what I want. THanks.

I'd be interested in seeing what other powers you came up with. You can e-mail them to me.

Thanks!

Yeah, great book.

Now if I can just get some free time to work on my own rules and those pesky projects athas.org keeps sending me. :P

So I'm back from my typical busy month of May, woot!
