Post in this thread what you're working on at the moment, and what you seriously want to tackle in the near future, and I'll update the following list with your name and works.

Whenever you have an update on your work (limit yourself to "I've given up on it" or "I finished it"), post again and I'll update anew.

Important Note: If you are already working on a similar subject than one listed below (wheter the person as given up on the work or not), you might think about contacting the author to suggest working in concert with that person, so as to minimize potential problems such as working on something that has already been done by someone else, or seeing your work compete with that of another.

I don't know if it's gonna be in the near future, but I'm considering to do something like a "Races of..." for Nikaals and Ssurrans [my project name for it is Races of Scales, but I'm not sure if, this is going to be the name for it]. Unfortunatelly there is very few information about these two races, so I'm working on a Question-Cataloge that would help me to get some insight how, others see those races. In addition, to not having that much time lately, the football/soccer world championship starts in two weeks, and I guess, this is going to reduce my precious time even more.

The Lion's Guard is finished- that is the half-giant PrC Penn mentioned, and the Honed Blade is finished, but I am polishing it up a bit more.

Montare PrC - Penn sent this one to me and I will be finishing it up.

Obvoiusly I am working on the Appendix II, but my other projects include-

1. The nifolaetan (the Night that Eats), ǽfre-aetan (Endless Eaters), and whelp (better name to come)- this is the DS Vampire project that brun01 and I am putting together.

2. Crown of the Overmind- psionic artifact

3. Dangers of Athas - pre-made encounters DMs can insert into their game.

4. NPC Guide - the is with Wolfheart, I do not know how far he has gotten, but my end is on hold until the Appendix II is finished.

Kal, can you resume in one phrase the nifolaetan and ǽfre-aetan so I can list them?

Personal comment: Weird names Kal, never hear the likes of them in DS, not even in Windriders of the Jagged Cliffs. One looks Latin, the other Norwegian.

Nope- both names were derived from Old English. As for the name origins, brun01 and I are thinking that the names could have come from an old form of Elvish.

The first of these will have appeared after the destruction of the fortesss on Morgazh - this of course is a bit of a tie in for another project that brun01 and I am thinking about, but those details are still under consideration at this time.
Kal, can you resume in one phrase the nifolaetan and ǽfre-aetan so I can list them?

Maybe is it because I just woke up and am not feeling very well this morning, but this sentance does not make any sense to me- sorry. Could you run it by me again please?

I have more of some general ideas I'm exploring rather than definite projects. As always I'm willing to put my 2 ceramic bits on anyone else's stuff. I'd also appreciate input on my creations (see links in the sig).

1. More cleric spells/domains, particularly for the paraelements.
2. Quasi-Elemental Cleric PrC - these clerics will be more adept at wielding pos/neg energy.
3. Verdant Avenger creature (nasty magical plant thing that resists defiling effects and likes to stalk and eat defilers).
4. Adventure campaign: loosely the campaign is set around a cleric trying to acheive elemental transformation. I like my adventures to have an element of intrigue (comes from GMing World of Darkness) so these can take a bit of time to complete.

Still working on Dwarves of Athas, following along the Races of line format. Not getting to much time to work on it these days with having moved in the UK, remodeling the house, and job hunting, but if I'm lucky I'll have something by xmas to get everyone's opinions on.

I plan do doing some sort of Pterran PrC that revolves around the Life Path fluff of that race. Other than that, I don't have much planned. I'll formalize the substitution class levels for the half-gaint rouge and the mul druid at some point. I may do some more substitution class levels for other races as well.

I've got a few ideas kicking around in my head but I'm not working on any of them yet.

A rogue/bard prestige class that would give spell progression with an illusion based spell list. Akin to the epic rogue as presented in Dragon Kings. Though my first big decision is going to be whether to make it an Epic PrC or not.

That's the only thing that's really in a place to even have a clear concept. The other stuff is just half-formed ideas.

House rules tweaking the Athas.org rules into my version of Darksun. Also have a Sorceror King template done and basic Dragon rules which I'm over hauling. Also have an Athasian Troll conversion I'm working on based on the adventure Grave Circumstances in Dungeon 56. Essentially there will be 3 types of Trolls.

1. The Trolls Hamanu wiped out in the Cleansing wars. Stats will e provided in the event PCs can timetravel, ressurect them, or to add undead templates to.

2. The mutant Troll in the bottom of Troll Grave chasm who survived the Cleansing Wars.

3. Modern Athasian Trolls descended from the mutant. In essence they're probably going to be standard MM Trolls maybe with some Psionics.

Please describe to me, in few terms, what the nifolaetan and ǽfre-aetan do, like this:
A PrC about xyz, which allows a character to do abc.
or
A monster that does xyz.

You can add that to your post Penn. That summarize about everything I'm trying to work on, when I find time.

Methvezem

As of 05/2006

PrCs:
- Elven tribal avenger (in concert with Squidfur-)
- Aarakocra warrior (not much details yet)
- Conversion of the 2e Voice and Gatekeeper kits
- Balikite silt skimmer captain/admiral
- Thri-kreen related to hivemind
- Professional kineticist that works for the Merchant Houses (3 levels)

Others projects:
2 unrelated creatures: the silt sail (pirolaxia) and the lords of the grey dephts (athasian genie, silhani)
A compendium of athasian flora – please everybody send me a description of any original athasian plant you create
An Elven Lexicon
Trying to help Grummore on his project about slaves ;)
Slowly developing the Brown Lands
And guess what… doing new items :P

I thought that by saying that is was an Athasian vampire project, that that would be a rather good description of what it was.

As of right now, I think brun01 and I are keeping this under wraps a bit, until we have a solid stat block in place with fleshed out and trimmed abilities. This way we have a semi-finished product to show.

But do not worry- when I say it is a vampire project, I do not mean the basic vampire. This and the two acompanying creatures will be very unique for Athas

Oh- and like I said, the two PrCs are basically finished, and the project with the vampires is being worked on with brun01 too- i did not see him listed above so I thought I should make sure that he is listed too

I'm doing all the artifacts from the Prism Pentad, as well the other artifacts from PAoA.
I'm converting the non-epic NPCs from PP as well.
Also, rules for life-shaped items and using them to convert the ones from PAoA and the Windriders (rules for creating tissues are done, currently on creatures and after it, the tools).

I had read badly: I thought the last part of the phrase only refered to the last of the three elements you mentionned, i.e. the whelp.

That´s about as Norwegian as the Super Bowl, in other words totally off.

Hey Pennarin - go ahead and add this class to my list of "To Do's"

Knight of the Cleansing - this will be a human only PrC (which will be a strange twist) and they would have risen up during the Cleansing Wars and maybe, just maybe have cells that are still active today.

Hey brun01 - it would be funnier if I knew what those word ment - of course I am sure that those who do know are getting an extra giggle out of it from my lack of language skill (I just do not spend any ranks in it). So a little translation would be cool!

Hey, I was thinking about doing something similar for the Twilight Soldiers. I am currently working on a space for them, with a small city and surrounding area. a small supplemement for a land far to the north. (D2 or so on Brian's maps).

Hello, I'm new on the forums and I decided to appear here for my first post :P .

Me and a couple of my friends (those playing Dark Sun) have been writing a revision of the complete (unofficial) Dark Sun rules for a year now (maybe more).

We changed all the classes, races, weapons rules, feats, skills, new psionics rules(more like those from 2nd.ed. AD&D) and umm everything but the campaign setting(with just a bit of clarifications about Athas everyday life).
For now everything is nearly complete (only clarescentience and a few druid spells are left undone) and I'll post a link here when I compile everything into one rulebook(there are at least thirty files of text) and I'll have to check(doublecheck) the grammer. I'll get myself and another artist friend to draw a few pictures to spice it up and one day give it a nice wrap-up design.
I'll even design a site when I'm done with college for the next year.

We are playtesting the rules on our second campaign. We have to playtest a few classes and a few races still,so there is still a third campaign waiting to be born(under my humble DMness_ship ).

By the way, nice forum youve' got here. I still can't realize how I managed to miss it for a whole year I've been looking for it and it's right on the wizards site.. :whatsthis .

_Cheers

I'm working on detailing a few Elan enclaves I've decided have been hiding out in the Dead Lands. I'm also working on filling out the Kreen Empire a lot more, and I will soon be working on a project similar to the one Dawnstealer, myself and a few others were working on about a year ago, Planes of Athas. It'd be easier if I could actually FIND Dawnstealer...... I'll post everything when I'm done.

I am currently working on two things:

Bastion: A city to the far north, forgotten since the Cleansing Wars. Home of the Twilight hall, a place where undead walk among the living, psionics are still at their Green Age level and beyond, Sages voluntarily become guardians, and war is forever contemplated and prepared for.

Supplement: Cleansing Wars: I started a different thread for this, but this will be a massive undertaking at least 200 pages of info and insight into the Cleansing War, including races no longer walking on athas, new PrC's, new feats, new magic/psionic items, and stats for all of the Champions.

So, I've been on a bit of a magma kick, and so I am developing an Athasian Paraelemental Plane of Magma supplement. The inner planes of Athas are a bit different from those of the D&D cosmology. I'll base what I can from Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (2E supplement) and will post everything to Archive Radnovium. It will have expaned info for magma clerics, critters, and so forth. So far I have posted a couple Magma outsiders: ozars and obphidians along with a slew of spells.

On the drawing board:

Volcanic Vapor Metaelementals: These sulfurous gaseous elementals will be hot, caustic, and nasty.

Magmacor: Kind of a magma based manticore. Not sure if I'm going with magical beast, elemental, or outsider for type yet.

I've also been plotting out my upcoming campaign, which will start in Free year 2, shortly after the events of Verdant Passage, and follow the path of the Prism Pentad Novels.

It's designed to take my players from 7th to 12th (at which point we'll move into Dregoth Ascending probably) and I give half experience (because otherwise I feel like levels fly by too fast). I'd be happy to post it once I've got it in some semblance of presentability. If people are interested. Are people interested?

I still have several project that are going extremely slowly. It's been about 3 years on some of these but I eventually would like to see at least one come true!

WtH - Working Too Hard - Project surrounding the slavery subject on athas.
PotH - Pterrans of the Hinterlands - Project on the Pterran civilization. (Sysane, if you wish to see what I have done, just look at my signature and see these threads. Btw, I would have some PrC in third ed that would need to be converted to 3.5. Maybe you wish to have a look at these?)
WotS - The Way of the Silt - Small adventure in the Estuary of the Forked Tongue.
HB - Hard Bargain - I like Traders and merchant Houses. I still want to do something about them.

Sound like this.

Well, I've slowed down my work on Gulg but I am still at it. I plan on finishing the Peoples of Gulg pretty soon, I'm working on the Arena of Gulg (gladiatorial game setups and such) and I have a few more Crescent Forest monsters on hold.

I've recently started converting the old adventure modules and I am working on a follow-up adventure to Road to Urik for my new players.

I've been inspired by the muse of magma. See my metaelements thread for more on them. This is what I'm working on:

Creatures:
Volcanic Vapor Metaelemental (almost completed), Tar Metaelemental, Magmacor, Harrrati (plural Harrat, genie of Magma, from harrat, Arabic word for volcano), Sufrai (plural Sufra, genie of Volcanic Vapor, from sufra, word for yellow), Mummi (plural Mumm; genie of tar as an aside here the word mummy is actually derived from the Arabic word for tar), Magfly

Domains: (These may be a while in coming. I need to create a few spells before these will come to fruition)
Breath of the Volcano, Heart of Obsidian, Flow of Lava

PrCs:
Magmadon (male) / Volcanatrix (female) = Magma Warrior
Metaelementalists of Tar and Volcanic Vapor
Metaelemental Masters of Tar and Volcanic Vapor

While looking at the boards I don't see anyone working on Elves, so I'm going to take on revising the Elves of Athas accessory. Plan on doing the Silver Springs first, always a fun place for new PC's, then work through the different tribes getting all of the major players worked out.
