I was in the process of cataloging a lot of things, and realized that I did not have DMR2 Creature Catalogue (under the Challenger Series label).

Does anyone know how this version differs from the original AC9 Catalogue?

They are very much alike. At a quick glance it appears that the DMR2 dropped a few creatures and added some others. Stat blocks were updated to the Challenger Series version- most notably adding in Intelligence for the monsters.

What is the Challenger Series? What does it cover? Is it OD&D or AD&D stats. Please elaborate.

The Basic set was reintroduced in the late 80s/early 90s (forget which) with a boxed set, IIRC. There were a number of supplements to the Basic set- notably the Thunder Rift modules and boxed sets- which were considered "introductory" (can't recall the label they gave them, though it's on the product page). The Challenger series, on the other hand, were modules and supplements that came out for the non-Basic levels- Expert through Masters. Basically, Challenger and Introductory (or whatever it was called) were just labels so that new and old players could distinguish between basic and expert level play. Kind of silly, but it was a marketing thing (and lets face it, marketing is kind of silly).
