Guys,

Looking for some input on this PrC. I originally posted it on the psi-boards, but didn't get much in the way of constructive criticism.

Additionally, I'm looking to replace the Initiative choice under the Surging Enhancement ability. The party will already have their initiative rolled by the time the emplate gets this ability on line in most situation.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Euphoric Emplate

“Allow my emotions to guide your actions”
-Sihus, euphoric emplate

Euphoric emplates are psionic practitioners that are able to tap into their emotions in order to bolster the confidence of others. Using their raw mental energies, the euphoric emplate can encourage even the most timid of souls.

Euphoric emplates are frequently maenad or human in stock, though they may hail from any race. The majority of euphoric emplates are wilders and rarely consist of other manifester classes due to the particulars or the prestige class. It’s not uncommon for the occasional multi-classed wilder/bard to be drawn to the role of the euphoric emplate finding the euphoric inducing abilities useful in heightening their art.

NPC euphoric emplates are social beings and are often found in cities, or similar locals, enjoying the company of others. More common, are the euphoric emplates who brave the wilds, in search of adventure with other like-minded thrill-seekers.

Hit Die: d6

Requirements
To qualify to become a euphoric emplate a character must fulfill all of the following criteria.

Skills: Knowledge (psionics) 8 ranks, Psicraft 8 ranks.
Feats: Skill Focus (psicraft)
Special: Surging euphoria class feature.

Class Skills
The euphoric emplate’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Autohypnosis (Wis), Bluff (Cha), Concentration (Con), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (psionics) (Int), Listen (Wis), Psicraft (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), and Tumble (Dex).

Skill Points at Each Level: 4+ Int modifier.
Table 1-1: The Euphoric Emplate
Level BAB Fort Ref Will Special
1st +0 +0 +0 +2 Euphoric cascade 10 ft, surging enhancement
2nd +1 +0 +0 +3 Greater euphoria
3rd +1 +1 +1 +3 Euphoric cascade 15 ft, surging enhancement
4th +2 +1 +1 +4 Greater euphoria
5th +2 +1 +1 +4 Euphoric cascade 20 ft, surging enhancement

Level Powers Known
1st +1 level of existing manifester class
2nd +1 level of existing manifester class
3rd +1 level of existing manifester class
4th +1 level of existing manifester class
5th +1 level of existing manifester class
Class Features
All of the following are Class Features of the euphoric emplate prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Euphoric emplates gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Powers Known: At every level, a euphoric emplate gains additional power points per day and access to new powers as if he had also gained a level in whatever manifesting class he belonged to before he added the prestige class. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (bonus feats, metapsionic or item creation feats, psicrystal special abilities, and so on). This essentially means that he adds the level of euphoric emplate to the level of whatever manifesting class the character has, then determines power points per day, powers known, and manifester level accordingly.
If a character had more than one manifesting class before he became a euphoric emplate, he must decide to which class he adds the new level of euphoric emplate for the purpose of determining power points per day, powers known, and manifester level.

Euphoric Cascade (Su): Once per day per class level, a euphoric emplate can expend his focus in order to have their surging euphoria affect his allies. Those near the euphoric emplate at the time his surging euphoria is triggered receive the granted morale bonus for a number of round equal to the intensity of his wild surge multiplied by two. Example, Sihus uses wild surge to boost his manifester level by two, and also expends his focus to trigger euphoric cascade. The morale bonus for himself and his allies would last for 4 rounds. If the euphoric emplate is overcome by psychic enervation while attempting to trigger a euphoric cascade, he and his allies do not gain the morale bonus for this use of his wild surge ability. Furthermore, allies within the euphoric cascade's radius are shaken until the end of the euphoric emplate's next turn. The area affected by this ability increases as the euphoric emplate gains levels as shown on table 1-1. Euphoric cascade is a mind-affecting ability.

Surging Enhancement (Ex): The euphoric emplate’s surging euphoria extends beyond just affecting damage, attack, and saving throws. At every odd level (1st , 3rd , and 5th ) the euphoric emplate may choose to have their surging euphoria benefit one of the following:

- Armor class
- 5 ft of additional movement per point of surging euphoria
- Skill & ability checks

Greater Euphoria (Ex): As the euphoric emplate continues to gain levels, his surging euphoria improves. His surging euphria improves at 2nd level, and again at 4th level. The number indicated on table 1-1 is added to the euphoric emplate's surging euphoria ability rating to determine the morale bonus given to himself and his allies.

Actually, how about this for a choice under Surging Enhancement:
- 5 ft of additional movement per point of surging euphoria

For the surging enhansement, I was going to suggest the same thing as you did with the speed increase.

The weakest point in the PrC that I see is the opening fluff paragraphs - they need some work and loven.

Here is a question - if the surging euphoria is being enhansed and can now effect others, then what if the wilder is overcome with the psychic enervation? I think that you have to take the good with some bad and maybe give everyone in range a -1 to the effects they would normally get a bonus in and a 5% failure for all casters and psions (DC 10 + wilders Cha mod + class level) to avoid the effect. That would make it just a bit more interesting IMO and in line with the wilder - they are ruled by their emotion and by amping them, those around them feel the effects too.

Over all good job, but once again, you need better fluff :D :P

I agree that it would fall in line flavor wise, but to penalize the entire party is little harsh. I could have it that those in cascade's radius are treated as shaken for one round. Either way, It does bring up a good point about enervation and the PrC though. It gives me something to think about.

I was thinking that is would effect everyone in range, friend or not in this case.

As for the condition, well shaken was stronger then I was thinking, but it would fit and if it was only one round, with no save then I can see that. I would think that if it lasted longer then there would be a save involved.

Here's what I'm thinking Kal. Let know what you think.
If the euphoric emplate is overcome by psychic enervation while attempting to trigger a euphoric cascade, he and his allies do not gain the morale bonus for this use of his wild surge ability. Additionally, allies that are within the euphoric cascade's radius are shaken until the end of the euphoric emplate's next turn.

Sounds good - I would have liked to see it affect everyone in range, but can see the logic to keeping the effect kind of shake up those who wold have benefited from it.

Very cool overall - now work on the fluff!!!

I'll work on the fluff a little morel, but I wasn't looking to make the PrC DS centric.

I like the class! Cool stuff for the party's wilder; "Hey everyone, look at Joe: He's useful all of a sudden! I vote we stop more often in old psionic ruins. Serious guys." :D
