Post your thoughts about the latest Dragonlance Trilogy, The Dark Disciple. I think that Mina will take her rightfull throne as Queen of Darkness in Amber & Blood while someone like Chemosh will make a change of heart and become the leader of the good side. Yes I know, it sounds hard to believe. If not Chemosh then maybe Majere will make the switch from balance to good.

well, majere is already a good god, so he can't switch to good. and i'd love to hear your theory on how the god of death and the undead could justify himself as a good one =)

They could conceivably reinstate Paladine upon Mina taking the throne of the evil pantheon, then everything would be back in balance.

I just dont see Mina as the equal to either Takhisis or Paladine.

I agree. So far, she's proven to be extremely gullible and naive. For someone who is a god, she's been easily brainwashed twice now, and if she sees someone casting a spell on her, her brain makes the spell actually work on her. Not to mention her name isn't really one that inspires deific grandeur. Sargonnas, Paladine, Takhisis, Chemosh, Mishakal, etc- those names sound like god names. Mina doesn't quite do it. Like having a god named 'Bob'. Doesn't look too promising if she is supposed to take the place of Tak, but I guess MW has something in store for us in the next book to address these concerns. Although I'm still underwhelmed with Ausric Krell, the 'Mungo' of Deathknights. Either way, can't wait to see what happens...

Also, you spelled the name of the series wrong. My copy clearly says "Dark Dicsiple".

Mina can never take the place of Takhisis, simply because she's nowhere near as obstenant or smart.

Mina is to godhood as psionics are to 2nd Edition Krynn.

I happened to loose much respect for Mina when I read the last part of the Amber and Iron book, but I was very happy that even in death Takhisis is showing the world who owns them!

Dicsiple isn't even a word. It should be Disciple. I think you have a typo, my red robed friend...unless are dyslexic you...

I think that during the series Mina realized she was more than mortal but acted like she didn't know. So in other words she was playing all the gods and mortals and we'll see that when she wakes up in Amber and Blood. Also, Mina has an advantage over the other gods and goddessess. Her whole god form is on Krynn whereas the other gods' forms are just partially on Krynn known as avatars. She raised the tower by herself and gave life back to Krell (Krell is mortal again). Also, remember the Midori diologues with Mina. Seems like Midori knew that she was all powerful and didn't wanna mess with her and just left, etc.

Perhaps this is a way for Taki to return?

Hmm...

I think that you are all underestimating Mina, maybe she hasn't been around as long as the other gods, which would definitely make her less experienced and easier for the older gods to brainwash her, especially when they have always kept her in the dark.

But I believe she has potential, whether she takes the side of Good or Evil...well...either one she takes will have to elevate another into the opposite position.

Hopefully all of our questions will be answered in the next installement...
