Has anyone taken a look at the Arachial race from Goodman Games' Aerial Adventures?

With Sellaine already being a parallell to Serraine, the Arachials could easily fit into Mystara, perhaps related to the Aranea?

Well, the similarities do not necessarily have to be found throughout the whole book.
The Arachial have nothing in common with araneas save being spider-like, but that doesn't mean anything, really.

They're described as spiders from the elemental plane of Air that travel in cloud-like webbed nests and prey on the living, so it's just that ;) Araneas are much more complex, widespread AND dangerous on Mystara

Perhaps they are the Air Elemental counterparts of Araneas? Descendants of Planar Spiders perhaps? (Wasn't it speculated that the Aranea had a similar origin?) Some side project of Arachne Prime?

That made me remember when Aerial portuguese version was released. I was very excited when I bought the first book, since it would be quite easy to adapt Serraine to Aerial (okay, airplanes are very exotic kind of airships, always of the smaller size, much faster but have the fuel problem... nothing impossible for adapting). Then I bought the second book. Very frustating to see a very different flying city with the same name... Then I realise that "Serraine" name might had come from a mitical, legendary flying cit of the past. i guess this could explain Serraine/Sellaine situation.
I a spider-like creature isn't something very common to be found in the elemental plane of Air (they are too depending of solid clouds) and it might be possible that they descends from planar spiders (that surely would explains a lot). And if araneas descends from the planars spaiders too, this makes araneas and the arachial race cousins. Or, pehaps, the arachial descends from araneas that migrated from Herath to the elemental plane of Air before they cousins developed their shapeshifting power

If Aerial is placed in Mystara where it would be? The Hollow World?

I think it would be interesting to have an areal campaign in the outer world, perhaps even above the Known World or above Alphatia. Serraine is already there ofcourse, but it would be fun to have a few aerial locations to move between, the isles of Floating Ar included obviously.

The Hollow World is certainly also an option, with all of the Floating continents, oncluding Alphatia and Osstdok to choose between.

I agree. For a completely areal campaign, pehaps even Seraine and Floating Ar could be brought into the Hollow World, pehaps?
There is something that always made me wonder a lot: the reaction between the Faenare, the Ee'aar and the elves of Sellaine

Since the rules Aerial brighs for constructon flying machires are focused on skyships, it doesn't fit very well for Serraine airplanes. So, I adapt it a little, trying to make it fit:

Mk Fighters

Size: "Small"
Hit Dice: 2 (11 HP)
Hardness: 1/2 of the normal (5, metal)
Speed: 450'/round*
Maneuverability: Clumsy (except for Evasive Maneuvers; in this case, conside it's Perfect, giving +8 AC)*
Crew: 1 Pilot +1 (Gunner)
Weaponry: Three weapon slots: Propeller, Top Wing and Middle Wings/Gunner's Cockpit; Bomb bay can be included, but the speed is reduced to 350'/round*

Propeller: Caltrop Cannon or Spike Gun
Top Wing: Ballista, Crossbows (two), Wand Gun
Middle Wings: Crossbows (two)
Gunner: Caltrop Cannon, Spike Gun, Crossbow, Wand Gun (one or two weapons here)

*- These itens don't follow the normal rules: Mk Fighters have a speed that surpass the normal skyship speed limit (200'/round) and can carry more weapons than a small skyship normally could (small skyships cann't have ballistas; medium skyships can have only one ballista), but its maneuverability is very bad for it's size and Mk Fighters need fuel in order to stay in the air.
The cost for a Mk Fighter normally would be 105600 gp, but considering its limitations, it should cost, probably, 26400 gp.
