The title pretty much explains itself, but is anyone around here running the Age of Worms adventure path from Dungeon Magazine in the DL setting? I'd be interested in hearing about experiences/problems/setting conversions if anyone has the time. Muchas gracias in advance.

Would Morgion or Chemosh be used instead of Kyuss?

Morgion fits much more thematically, as the lord of pestilence. All hail Anthrax Goatlord and his diseased flail of ruination. Also, some worms.

Kyuss is not a powerful deity, but he's more powerful than most things the heroes can encounter. I think it's likely that in Dragonlance you could make Kyuss an aspect fo Morgion and ignore some of the backstory, or have him be a separate individual entity that has been striving to become a god of his own.

Age of Worms works a little better in settings where mortals can become gods or demigods; DL doesn't feature such a concept, except in specific cases like the alternate reality Raistlin or Kingpriest.

Cheers,

I'm not a regular reader of Dungeon, but I picked up the end game issue for Age of Worms. I was thinking about it in terms of DL. It really doesn't fit the setting, in the traditional sense. Like Cam said, DL basically has it's own pantheon, which is pretty static. However, I was thinking, it could be adapted to not use any of the established gods, but rather a resident of the Abyss, who in the aftermath of the WoS, is eyeing Takhisis' abandoned spot in the group.

I haven't read Amber and Iron yet, so I don't know if there were any plot twists on the subject of the abandoned spot, but this was the only way I could see the Age of Worms being a viable option in the world of Krynn.

It would be interesting to see someone attempt the conversion on the Nexus. It looks like a really interesting campaign, from the small bit I had the chance to read.

I really dont see how the Age of Worms would fit in DL. It is based in Greyhawk, complete with its own mythologies and uber baddies, i.e. Dragotha. Somethings should not be cross worlded. This is one case.

I highly disagree. You can make DL "your" DL by tweaking anything you like. I think it could be adapted very well, more so than the adaptation I'm using for the Eberron world (though I'm having a blast running it). So you don't like using "Greyhawk" NPCs/villains like Dragotha or the three gods of the Ebon Triad? Change the dragon's name and compose the Triad from three gods of Krynn, say Nuitari, Sargonnas, and Morgion or Chemosh. The Free City can be Palanthus. Kyuss could have been a Black Robe or Renegade necromancer with eyes on the throne of Undeath that Chemosh currently holds. Raistlin tried to take over Takhisis' place by time travel and manipulation. Kyuss could do the same with his "Ebon Triad" cult and legions of undead. I really believe there's some possibility here that can be explored. I think denying the possibility of a good campaign just because you're afraid to change a world that you as the Dungeon Master control is a shame...but to each his/her own. Thoughts?
