Has anyone else used (or thought of using) these guys in place of or addition to the DS3 halfling? I actually like the Environmental and Elemental variants from Unearthed Arcana, as I feel that many of them would fit well within Dark Sun (with the environments being more along the lines of Dark Sun's environments, of course). I see them as desendents of Spirits of the Land or (was it Elemental Ascendants?) -- the two divine-spellcasting Advanced Beings. These beings can assume their original form, and I would guess could even procreate... decendants from them could retain some unique qualities that become manifest -- and the bizarre offspring could simply be considered and treated like being one of the "New Races" by most people. Rare, even for New Races, but I can easily see them in my Athas world-view.
