#1zombiegleemaxJul 03, 2006 3:08:16 | Has anyone fleshed out Cobb Darg or has this been handled in LGG or something to that affect? |
#2MortepierreJul 03, 2006 4:10:02 | That, sir, is a mystery even the gods find impossible to solve. Witness.. http://www.greyhawkonline.com/wogcomic/title/wogstrip57a.htm |
#3mortellanJul 03, 2006 14:55:42 | LOL classic. That's twice today my comic has been referenced for a thread (Kord is the other). I love it! p.s. it wouldn't surprise me if someday Cobb became a quasi-deity. Of what I have NO idea, maybe god of racial confusion. |
#4MortepierreJul 03, 2006 15:02:47 | Well mort, your comic is just too good not to ;) As for Cobb, I rather see him taking Secrets from Vecna's portfolio :P |
#5zombiegleemaxJul 03, 2006 16:36:18 | For what it's worth, in LG we deliberately (on pain of pain) decided never to even speculate about what/who he might be. If you're using him in your campaign, just assume there's more to him than meets the eye and that there's not a lot that escapes his attention. Everything else is irrelevant. Some mysteries should always remain unsolved. ;) |
#6cragJul 04, 2006 12:16:13 | Hate to tell everyone their is no santa but IIRC Cobb Darg a Gold Dragon who assumed the shape of a human and become mayor of Irongate ofcourse only his closest confidante - forget her name - knows his true form. LGG or OJ article, I believe. |
#7grodogJul 04, 2006 14:12:25 | I've always thought he was a Dragon (since the 1983 boxed set, when the ruler for Irongate was actually given a name), though in my occassional-p/d/b dyslexic manner, I figured Cobb meant that he was a copper dragon :P |

It's not in the LGG, for sure. And the OJ, though excellent, isn't Canon. I think I know the article you're talking about though. It was a fan-piece entitled Dragons of Greyhawk (or something similar) and used to be on the Codex of Greyhawk site (it might have made it into the OJ after that). I never liked that it defined what Cobb Darg was. |
#9grodogJul 05, 2006 9:00:05 | Looks like the Dragons of Aerdy article isn't included in the internet archive for the Codex. There was a section for Dragon NPCs, and Cobb was listed (that much is still archived, just not the actual text/contents). |
#10thanaelJul 06, 2006 4:06:38 | Dragons of Aerdy article: http://www.dracheninsel.de/dracheninsel/add/greyhawk/dragons.htm |

Knowing the love of anagrams in Greyhawk, Cobb Darg fairly screams copper dragon. |
