How do the feats "Path Dexter" and "Path Sinister" work? I think I may be confused on the wording.

Choose them as feats for you wizard.

Each grants benefits to two specified schools of magic (as I recall). Logically they are mutually exclusive but you could bend that rule at a pinch.

Thats really about all you need to know.

For every spell level (1st, 2nd, etc.) you choose two spells that are of the appropriate school, and you get an effective +1 caster level whenever you cast those spells. When you go up in levels and gain access to new spell levels, you still get 2 spells from those levels. The spells chosen don't necessarily have to be ones you know (technically, at least), but when you learn 'em and cast them you'll get the +1 caster level.

Ok, thank you very much. I was thrown off by spell levels that you have not obtained yet.
