Hi guys! In the D&D Core adventure 'The Sunless Citatel' part of the action takes place in a small town called 'Oakhurst'. All Core D&D Products take place in the World of Greyhawk, so does anyone know where in the WoG is Oakhurst located? I've started a campaign in the WoG and I'd love to know that. Thanks!

IIRC, the "semi-official" location was the County of Urnst, hex 24U of the big map.

This is debatable.

Oakhurst never had an "official" Greyhawk location. It can go anywhere you can have a rift in the ground. I think hills work the best. I put Oakhurst in Verbobonc, on the border of the Kron Hills.

amusing. :D

I set Oakhurst along a dusty path in the south eastern Cairn Hills.

amusing. :D

I'm sure what Rip (and I apologize in advance if I read him wrong) was getting at is that although 3e, and to a percieved lesser extent, 3.5e products that don't bear a setting logo are assumed to take place in Greyhawk, in most of them, there is little to nothing to actually support that, especially in the early "adventure path" modules. I agree with this assesment completely.

GH, as it exists as the core setting for 3.x edition D&D, is limited to one sourcebook and one alone, the (rather lame) D&D Gazetteer. No other GH canon, even the LGG, is really considered critical by the designers of core products when touching on GH. Still, bits and pieces here and there are good for inspiring creativity, and the rather generic nature of the material, again, especially the adventures, makes them ideal for a DM wishing to use them in a home campaign without a ton of adaptation work being required.

So, in other words, Oakhurst, and the accompanying adventure, can be placed just about anywhere in the Flanaess or beyond with very little work.

Don't get me wrong! Greyhawk fanboy I am! I'm just amused that Wizards doesn't give everything to the setting they can. It's classic, for one. And it's hard not to notice that GH has it's fans considering the numerous boards scattered about the net.

Back on topic...

I have also seen Oakhurst set in Verbobonc, near the Kron Hills; and in western Nyrond.

I'm seriously thinking about putting it in the Lorridges, on the edge of the Gran March.
