Which Books to Look For?

I never played 2ed, but the Spelljammer setting is one of the coolest things I've discovered since stating to play DnD at 3ed and now 3.5. The Beyond the Moons official fansite has a lot of good information, but you need some of the 2ed Spelljammer books to make it work.

So I was wondering, which books should I be attempting to find? While I can imagine collecting a whole bunch of SJ stuff as time passes, I'm wondering what I really need to get started. I think there are two versions of the core SJ rules, but I don't know thier names. Also, which of the two is better?

Thanks in advance.

If you are only after a single book, the core 2nd edition boxed set was Spelljammer: Lorebook of the Void/Concordance of the Spheres (2 booklets in 1 boxed set). The second core boxed set well worth obtaining is the War captain's Companion.

There's only one 3rd edition canonical article I'm aware of, and it has something to do with dark elves.

rpgnow.com has all of the Spelljammer products for $5 a download. Go for the boxed set.

You can also find some pretty rare SJ supplements on Ebay from time to time. Also, check Amazon.
