Just chewing over some ideas for a campaign that have been foating round in my head for a while and now brought to the fore mainly inspired by Zardnaar's +1000years thread.

The Mind Lords have contracted "z'niish" and ancient word that they have yet to discover the meaning of but is used as the name for the psionic sickness that has begun to affect them.
As they become weaker over the years, they become oblivious to external events and may fall to a new threat.
The sahuagin, who have found their way to Athas completely by accident by travelling through a rift in the elemental plane of water.
A large force now stuck (permanently ?) in the Last Sea take ownership of the deeps and plan to overthrow the mind lords.

Using ancient Rhulisti knowledge and arcane lore discovered in a ruined city at the bottom of the Last Sea, the sahuagin leader, Krymalish'ac, begins a process of transformation to become another advanced being.

Thats as far as I got.
Its kind of a sahuagin vs mind lord power struggle.

Any thoughts / comments / further expansions welcome.

My plans for the Psi lords would involve the elven one dying and the remaining 2 returning to a normal body as the female one is going insane. Also the Order learns of them and decides to assault Saragar to liberate Green Age knowledge of Psionics. Such a plan is best described as a tactical oops and most of the Order gets enteched in obsidian orbs and the Mindlord repair the psionic defenses of Saragar. I should get around to posting the timeline here sometime as my next DS game will likely be set 1000 years after the PP.

Sahuagin IMHO would have become extinct assuming they ever existed on Athas but I think the Last Sea would be to small for them to bother compared to the Elemental plane of Water. about espicially with the squidzilla and mindlords around. Personally I would try and fit them in as I have half a dozen Sahuagin minis so would need very little encourageent to fight them into Athas- kinda like my Silt Aboleth idea I've got or the DS Isle of Dread conversion.

You could also stage a 4 way fight between the Sahuagin, Surfing Druids, Mindlords and Ninja Pirate Warforged Dinosaur riders from Eberron via another rift. OK I'll shut up now.

Do the sahuagin kill the dolphins or convert them to their evil cause?

Dolphins would kill the Sahuagin. After all on a planet where they can't acess any magic, and Dolphins have homefield advantage, and psionics. Also if the Dolphins get in trouble, they can call upon the Mind Lords for help

I always wanted to create an adventure where the mindlords got killed by their own happy subjects after getting a little bit crazier (with a little help from the Order).
I always wanted Saragar a little less closed-border than it actually is.

Kinda strange for a guy with a 'mindlord' email address, huh?

Doesn't the elf die in the adventure included in the boxed set?

No, I really really like the druids. I never understood why the boards hate them so much. Oh, I also make them rastafari-like in my campaign.

Destroy the waves, not the land, dude!

Zardnaar,

Kosveret doesn't die (or any other mindlord), he actually creates a "grandfather paradox" that ends up generating the events that created the mindlords.

Let me check....Kosveret is only killed IF the PCs manage to destroy the orb that houses his mind - A daunting task IMO seeing as how this dude was stated out as a 27th level psionicist and the advnture was created for PCs of 6th to 8th level, but not impossible in the 2e age - now a-days, the characters would be killed in the first round of combat facing an opponent that high of a level.

Either way, at the conclusion of the adventure, the ending is the same.

I have always been thrilled at the fact that the DS line contains a supplement (and a geographical formation) with my surname in the title ;)
