The IDF's policy obviously comes from data (or lack of it) collected from non-scientific studies, or better yet individuals' uninformed opinions. Taking part of a gaming session, and receiving basic explanations of the rules, informs any normally constituted fellow that D&D is a game. Also, the journalist's own info on D&D (outside of the LARP) is outdated about 20 years. Dwarves and thieves? Maybe he read an old Chainmail brochure... Mmm, and where are the mentions of World of Darkness? Warhammer? Cyberpunk? Maybe Israel's enemies are playing those...
