If I was to run Dead Gods in a 3.x game, what levels would the PC's need to be? Just a ballpark average. The book says it's for 6-9th lvl 2e PC's. I'm not sure how different 3.x PC's are from 2e characters.

I don't think it will make a great difference. At least the starting level.

Monte Cook has published a 3rd ed. similar to Dead Gods story (do not forget he is among the first planescape writers)
You can search for it on his site.

Oh he did? Is it an adventure or just a story he wrote? Do you have a direct link to it?

I think Jim meant Requiem for a God, which is neither an adventure nor a story. It could be used to enhance Dead Gods, particularly the second adventure Into the Light, but it's not really similar to it.
