Anyone ever 'flesh out' Korizegy Keep?

Looking for ideas and stats.

Hopefully something low level PCs could get near, investigate, get spooked, flee and return later in the campaign.

At the moment, I'm toying with the idea of an ethereal or pocket dimension with a full castle within, though I'd love to hear other ideas.

Here is an idea that I used:

The PCs approach the ruins and find them pretty much abandoned. When searching them they find some intriguing fragments of text, perhaps some historically interesting items etc. Then slowly bring in mysterious events, hints at haunting perhaps. Finally slam a hopelessly powerful enemy in their face and watch the players scream as their hit points drop and a couple of PCs die.

Then... the PCs wake up screaming. They are sleeping at their camp, still on their way to korizegy keep.

Regardless of what they'll actually find there, this should keep them jumpy for a long time. Worked like a charm when I used the trick.

I've only used the Keep once, as a part of my campaign "Division of the Five" - the scheme can be found at the Vaults. But I guess it isn't much help to you, as it is made for pretty powerful PCs and is a very long campaign.

You may find the DF thread about the 'Haunted' keep useful.

Bit of trivia: Koriszegy Keep was described in the old computer game "Order of the Griffon" -- if you search on google you might find walkthroughs and maps.

Eh, I played that one, Maybe my memory fades, but the keep did not feel very fleshed out in the game. The maps just don't feel that useable either. It was fun enough to play, though.

yes! That looks a lot like the map from the Erol Otis cover red basic game.

Thanks
