I started a thread a few weeks ago on Athas in Free Year 1000. I'm thinking of writing a Wanderers Chronicle for the Tyr region circa FY 1000 and sharing it here on the boards. I want to print it out for my players if we get around to doing it as it will essentially be a new metaplot for them. Would anyone read it if I did or am I wasting my time. Setting it 1000 years into the future means I don't have to worry about continuity as much. Heres a few ideas and left over plot hooks left over form the revised boxed set, the Dragon/Dungeon magazines from a couple of years ago.

While the original boxed set was gritty and harsh I want to continue from where the revised boxed set left off from
The Crunch.
1. New regional and initiate feats.
2. House rules tweaking Athas.orgs work or suggestions incorporating other 3.5 sourcebooks (Spell Compendium and the Complete Series mostly some FR feats/spells/PrCs etc)

The fluff.
1. The Kreen Invasion hook. More pre history for FY 1000. the Kreen invade the tablelands around FY 15 or so just after the events in Rise and Fall of a Dragon King. A plague releases by a renegade lifeshaper from Thammasku which is also attacked effectivle wipes out the Kreen empire. By FY 1000 they have recovered their numbers but are in civil war.

2. Sadira. Rajaats spell transforming her into the Amber Enchantress also had the side effect of turning her into a Sorceror Queen. Around FY 20 a intelligent Templar learns how to draw spells from her much to here surprise. By FY 1000 she is the Queen of Tyr.

3. Restoration of Athas. Sadira has learned to syphon off Tyr storms from the Cerulean Storm. Rainfall is falling in the ringing mountains and for the 1st time in centuries there is water under the elven bridge in Tyr. Urik, Nibenay and Gulg have legalised the Veiled Alliance now called the Alliance. Druids are powerful in Urik while Tyr is in a new "golden age".

4. Balic, Raam, and Draj oppose Tyr/Urik/Nibenay/Gulg. Andropinis has returned, Dregoth rules Raam and Azetuk has become a Dragon and proper Sorceror King somehow.

5. After the Wanderer reaches Saragar the Order learns of the existence of the Last Sea. several years pass and around FY 17 The Order breach Saragars defences to plunder it for its lost Green Age psionic knowledge. The Mindlords inner chamber is breached as the Order discovers their buried Orbs. The Mindlords barely manage to repulse them after Keltis/Oronis arrives entrapping most of the Orders attaking Psioinists in orbs. Oronis helps the Mindlords form corporal bodies and are reborn as living constructs- the Psiforged. In return the Mindlords become more liberal and a few dissenters are allowed to leave and travel to either New Kurn or settle in the mountains surrounding the Last Sea area. The Mindlords create additional Psiforged to act as an army as the Saragar region is plundered by raiders until they manage to rebuild the border guardian system drawing on the trapped essences of the Order.

6. The Crystal Empire is born circa FY 900. Exiles from the Last Sea region and Psiforged carve out an empire in the area north of Lava Gorge region and manage to reach the bottom of the Jagged Cliffs. Crystal Empire troops reach Dezig and participate in the Kreen Civil War.

Sounds like fun! I really like the idea of the renegade lifeshaper from Thamasku wiping out a large portion of the kreen empire.:D

There were a few reasons I decided on this. One I didn't want to bother with it in my campaign and 2 this way I can always ressurect that plot hook in FY 1000 if the empire rebuilds itself. It could also have been a mistake or some unknown reaction to advance Kreen scouts reaching the Thamasku area.

How could the Order not already know about the Mind Lords?

Saragar was cut off long before the Order was even created. Also the order has that whole lets not tolerate epic level Psions who aern't neutral attitude which the Mindlords violate. My assumption was that once the Order learns of Saragar they would seek to seize it for themselves and to eliminate the Mindlords as violations of "pure" Psionics as they see it. The order being decimated would also allow it to be rebuilt with perhaps different rules so an PC psion that is good/evil aligned doesn't have to worry about other epic Psions seeking to give him a dirt nap.

Saragar was cut off long before the Order was even created.

Exactly why they would leave it alone. Same reason they leave the SKs alone, as described in DK and DC, even though they regularly take down fledgling dragons (and one fledgling avangion). Same reason they don't go tangling with the Caller In Darkness. If something's long established in the world, it's found its balance.

Saragar's not entirely cut off; the Ssuran keep a thin trade link between it and the outside world, through Trade Nest. While the Ssuran probably keep Saragar a secret, you have to give the Order more credit than to miss something quite that big and Psionic. I'd be surprised if at least one member of the Order isn't from Saragar. There's a lot of people in that area.

Besides, even if the Order could take down the Mind Lords in the ML's own territory, I don't think that empire ruling is really their thing. Seems just like the thing that they stop others from doing with psionics.

Normally I agree but in theory the order shouldn't have got involved in the Psionitrix debacle but they did. I just want to rough Saragar up a bit and it sems as if they're on the point of collapse. Anyway I'll write it up and see what people think but my PCs don't even know about Saragar. heck the Templar converted to Oronis but took a few sessions to figure out he was an Avangion- once they figured out what an Avangion was as we don't usually play DS and I'm the only experienced DS player/DM here.
