I just checked in the Annoted Chronicles about the dragonarmor that the armies wear. I found the part where in Flotsam Tanis and Caramon jump the two blue dragon officers and take their armor and they describe it as steel that resembles the scale plating the dragonlords wear. My question is for the dragonlords themselves, is the armor something special or is it steel as well? Im trying to incorperate that armor in my current campaign but i didnt know what the material was. If it were to be anything i was going to use the dragonmetal as described in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting.

I think the Highlords were the only ones that had the special armor. The grunts had replicas but they were just that, replicas.

The Dragonarmies would never make use of dragonmetal for their armor or any weapons. They didn't have access to it, and it's something of a problem for their dragon mounts, as well.

Dragon Highlords have specially created suits of armor, which are detailed in the War of the Lance sourcebook. Dragonarmy officers and soldiers wear scale mail, breastplates, or heavier armor, depending on their locality and personal choice.

Really can't quote them word for word but they typically had deflection bonus and DR per the element of the mounts breath.
