Just thought you'd all be interested. Strahd looks like a super-hero, but i still look it. Van Richten looks nothing like he's portrayed in the novels.

I'm very disappointed. the Van Richten I might uses as a generic NPC Cleric, but Strahd, kind of sucks. . .

Well, let's be reasonable here. If you ever plan to do an Interview with the Vampire crossover, then the blue-coat portrayal by William O'Connor could be perfect for Louis. Or indeed any other androgynous whimpering vampire too paralyzed by self-pity for his fallen state to do more than sulk in nightclubs and drive around looking for journalists

I'm so glad I picked up the Ral Partha set of Darklords a few months back. I still haven't found anybody who will paint them for me, but at least these are accurate and (to my mind) canon portrayals of the darklords we know and love.

I don't think they ever did do a Rudolph van Richten, however.

Yes, the Ral Partha blister 11-112 Vampire Hunters included a van Richten.

I agree. Though I applaud the move away from the "Bela Lugosi" vampire look, did they HAVE to take the Anne Rice route???

There's a new vampire hunter mini up and, while better, still is nowhere close to what I'd like to see.

Looks like VanHellsing, that crap-fest of a movie, has infected the sculpters...

Well, unofrtunately, Strahd has to match his depiction in Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. The mini matches a picture of Strahd in the book which makes him look like an elf. Too bad they didn't decided to handle this icon like they handled Soth.

I showed the Van Richten mini to a friend of mine, to which he had two responses.

The first is that the mini never technically says that it's supposed to be Rudolph van Richten. Ergo, the mini actually represents the lesser-known Stanley van Richten, the good doctor's gung-ho cousin.

The second was to base his next character concept on the mini. If his current character dies, he intends to make a character named "Rowdy Rudy" van Richten, a conman hunter of the dead claiming to be the now-retired doctor in order to boost his own career. After all, Dr. van Richten has been level-drained often enough that it would be reasonable for him to be a low-level adventurer again, just starting his career over. Only this time, he's not going easy on monsters... this time around... IT'S HAMMER TIME!

Needless to say, I'm now terrified to kill his current character.

The only thing the have to to is start impressing the fans with their materials
