Hey all.

Well the time has begun for me to round up volunteers for a new project that I am heading up.

I need people with the knowledge, skilz, and time who would aid me in converting the NPCs from ALL of the 2e adventures - though not the Dungeon magazine ones at this time. When I say all, I really mean all - I have compiled a list of around 530 NPCs and a few new monsters that will be converted from 2e to 3.5 using the new style stat block.

Now I know that some people out there have done some of this material already - and that is great, and I would welcome them as contributions to the project as long as they follow the guidelines that I will be putting forth.

This will be an official project, in that athas.org will have the final say in the material that is given to them, so quality is on the top of my list of "must haves". Each adventure will have their own NPC Guide and also maybe some hints on how to run the adventure in 3.5, but that detail has not been worked out as of yet.

Right now, I would ask that if you are interested, e-mail me at kalthandrix@gmail.com and let me know how much time you think you would be willing to give me. Some NPCs I will begin to assign within the week, but some I will wait on until the APX2 is published - this will give us a greater variety of PrCs and such to work with.

Having the adventures is handy, but not a requirement, and people should be familiar with the method of converting 2e to 3.0 and the differences between 3.0 and 3.5 - here is a link to find the conversion guide for 2e to 3.0 --> http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/er/20030221a

Thanks

I have had three additional volunteers - thanks to you guys.

I will wait until the end of today and see who else wants in and then I will send an e-mail to all the members of the NPC team and assign the first batch of NPCs.

Please remember that Mark and I converted the NPCs from the "Freedom!" adventure which can be found here.

That is great- but seeing as how we are going to be using the new format - this material would still have to be checked and then put into the new stat block - but I will check them and let you fellers know if I will be using them -

Thanks Elonarc!

One thing that volunteers must have in mind is that they should be familiar with the MM4 format. This article can be really helpful for those that are not yet familiar.
This will save a lot of time for the editors.

I've already got a blank MM4 stat-block ready and waiting.
I can upload it to someone/somewhere if anyone needs it.

I will be supplying the stat block we will be using - and I will be including instructions as how I would like to have things done - I will send out that information and the first batch of NPCs tonight.

I will strongly suggest using Kam and ElonarcĀ“s conversions and adapting them to the new format. I would also suggest extending the deadline for volunteers. Reading your post, it could be interpreted that there is only a 24-hour opening to volunteer. It should be longer, at least a week, maybe two, maybe no limit at all. Just a couple of bits from your friendly overcouncil supervisor. ;)

Kam has already sent me the file and I will be working on inputting that information {me on tops of the biz}

And I in no way intended to make it sound like this was a 24-hour thing, volunteers are welcome, but I need people who have the time and the ability to contribute more then a handful of NPCs.

So far the teams consists of -

brun01, cnahumck, j0lt, Phantom, CKS, Bengeldorn, Meth, and myself

I have had some others interested, but either the time frame of when material was needed or other time committments in the RL just made it difficult - and I really need people who are willing to stick through the project til the completion because there is a bit of a learning curve when it come to doing this.

But - I would still welcome additional people, as long as they can meet the expectations I mentioned above.

Thanks
