Hi all,

I've recently opened my own place on the internet called
"The Wayfarer's Inn", which is supposed to deal with oldschool settings and games.

However, out of my affection for the Lost Lands of Krynn, I have added a DL board that is supposed to focus on discussion about Taladas:

Hope you all come and visit!

Yours,

Rafael

I can not seem to find the section on Dragonlance.

It's the one called "Karathos' Table".

Ivid, maybe some of these section names are a bit obscure?

k the question is, whats wrong with these boards that we already have? Not to be rude, but I read these boards every day and could care less about some upstart new boards. nothing personal but these boards are perfect.

That's a character from *Unsung Heroes* - a minotaur arena champion I liked, IIRC. Sorry for not being clear about it, but I had an aversion against simply calling it *The Taladas Board*.

Well, nothing, really, especially that the discussion there will hopefully be more focused on Taladas. - I am not competing with this board here or whatever, I just opened my own message board and added a Taladas section because I ran a long campaign there once and I am still fond of the setting.

Of course, but what is to be expected of a board that was opened just five days ago? - Hopefully, the DL section will grow, and since there is no particular base on the www for Taladas fans apart from the mailing list, it might even find the approval of some.

I say again, why would people even bother with a new board when this one has been here for how long now??? I do not see me going to the new boards, these just have to much good reading to be relocating somewhere else.

Again, I don't quite understand what is your problem:
I don't say "come over", this is a bad board" or whatever. I just say "hey, there is a new DL board in the making - you might want to take a look".

You're not interested. - Fine. How I apparently offended you with my advertisement remains a mystery.

Dude, just leave it alone, the guy is just saying that he has a new board and that IF ANYONE WANTS TO PARTICIPATE ON IT, they are quite welcome to go on over. If you don't, then DON'T.

Also, his board is devoted to Taladas, which doesn't have a specific place here and is only referred to sporadically. There is absolutely nothing wrong with him letting people know there is another place for DL discussion. Do you go over to other DL boards (like, say, dragonlance.com) that have been around for a while but not as long as this one and ask them why they are wasting their time there when there is a perfectly good board over here at WotC? I can tell you right now that DL.com has a bigger following than this board and many over there don't even post here.

So, again, leave it alone and let Ivid have his new board in peace.

I do not have a problem with "him" I have just always disliked when others come to established boards, any established boards advertising some other boards .... no matter if they intend to or not, try to purposely or inadvertantly pull folks from an established board.

Actually to be truthful, the respectful way to do it is advertise the board in your sig instead of making an entire thread trying to get people to go to a forum.

just my 2 cents

Thank you, Rath, for stepping up in my defense.

@Damaja: Again, the point is that the board just opened and I wanted it announce that there is a new member in the family. As you can see I don't advertise the board in my sig, because that would be too much for my taste. Also there is a difference between someone spamming other boards, and someone being a long-time member like me and just pointing to a project one is tinkering on, no? - Apart from that, I really don't think the topic is really worth of any discussion. If the Wizos thought my small add here was incorrect, they would have closed it earlier. So, I have the feeling that this is too much addo about nothing.
